Default Sitcom Stars you've met and / or obtained autographs from?

I think this topic was done before, but it's been a while....

Anyone here meet any sitcom stars personally? Or otherwise have obtained autographs from them? Here's my select list...

Met personally -

Dustin Diamond (Screech): Performed a stand-up comedy routine at my college. Very nice guy. Got my picture taken with him, and an autograph on a cheap, computer-printed headshot.

Barry Williams (Greg Brady): Also came to my school the following semester, and spoke to us about his life as a Brady kid, in an interactive lecture. I got up on stage as he taught a few of us to dance like a Brady. Later, I met the guy, and got his autograph on a glossy headshot, as well in a copy of his "Growing Up Brady" book. Also a very nice guy.

Obtained an autograph from -

The cast of the Final Season of Three's Company (John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt, Prisilla Barnes, Don Knotts, and Richard Kline): I must have been in middle school, when I wrote a fan letter to John Ritter. Three months later, I get an envelope with a color photo of the five cast members, on the reverse is everyone's signature in fresh ink.

So how about your encounters?

Damn, that is awesome! I'd especially love to have John Ritter's autograph.

This isn't from anyone on a sitcom, but when The Tracey Ullman Show was first starting out, my best friend and I decided to write her a fan letter. A few weeks later, I found an autographed glossy from Tracey in my mailbox. I was a very happy girl that day.

Let's see, I usually don't send off for autographs and I don't really get autographs anymore when I meet somebody. I just prefer getting a photo with them. I met Michael J. Fox and Bill Cosby when Universal Studios-Orlando first opened. There were tons of stars there that day, but alot of them were never in sitcoms. I guess McHale's Navy is classified a sitcom, so Ernest Borgnine was there, too, but he was a jerk. I met Ron Howard & Tom Hanks(and Gary Sinise, too, but he's not a sitcom star). They were all having dinner at the restaurant I used to work at in Cocoa Beach. They were in town to check out Kennedy Space Center, I guess for research for Apollo 13. Then, I met Kelsey Grammer & George Clooney(Does he count? I mean, he was on Facts of Life)at different times at Planet Hollywood-Orlando.

Reading these stories, in particular, the "Three's Company" references, reminds me of the time I almost, yes, almost, met Suzanne Somers, and it remains one of the great disappoinments of my youth.

It was the spring of 1979 and my Grade 8 class was at the end of a field trip. We were walking through downtown Toronto when I noticed that there was a fairly sizeable crowd gathered only a few feet from where my class was walking. It didn't take us long to realize that Suzanne Somers, who was at the height of her "Three's Company" fame then and was in Toronto to shoot a TV-movie, was within reach of my very eyes. Gathering up what little courage I mustered back then, I approached my teacher to see if there was any chance that she could bring us down to see Ms. Somers in person and maybe even say 'Hi' to her and give her a little wave. Her reply will go down in infamy, at least as far as I'm concerned. She said words to the effect of "Well, maybe if it was somebody more important, like the Prime Minister of Canada". Somebody more important? This was only the biggest star on the most popular TV series in North America. Who else would you expect, Elvis? Oh, how cruel fate can be sometimes!

I have several. I met Valerie Harper (The Mary Tyler Moore Show's Rhoda) and got an autograph (not to mention a hug!) from her. As for regular autographs, I have: Betty White, Mary Tyler Moore, and Ed Asner. I'm waiting on a response from Dick Van Dyke. I sent him my CD booklet from "Mary Poppins" to sign, and according to Star Archive, that should come back in about 2 months.

Now that's just wrong. It wouldn't have hurt her to at least let y'all walk over there. Yeah, that sucks alright.
