Custom Avatars? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

How do you make your own custom avatar. I would like to change mine to a custom avatar.

What I do is I download a file or right-click a web site photo or pic and save it to my hard drive. Then I open it using Adobe Photoshop Elements. Anything similar you can use, too. If it's bigger than 150x150 pixels, you can use Adobe to either re-size it or edit it down. Personally, I prefer to resize.
