Default Thanks Nick at Nite

Even though N@N hasn't treated Wings well, we still have one thing for which to thank them. Apparently, N@N finally listened to the viewer complaints about squeezing the end credits to side of the screen and drowning out the dialouge when there's a scene. Or they realized most of Roseanne has scenes during the end credits. Either way, the next time seasons 6-8 are shown, the scenes at end may not be ruined by N@N ads.

It appears that I thanked N@N too soon. They still have to get their promo in for Cheers. But hopefully, when Roseanne starts and Wings is on at 3:30 a.m., N@N will consider not ruining the end credits scenes.

This whole Roseanne thing is kind of crazy. Sure it's popular, but why is it going to be on 2 cable stations? Why can't Wings be on 2 stations? If only there was a way to get WGN or TBS to pick up Wings. Imagine if Wings was on WGN or TBS for an hour somewhere between 5 and 8 p.m. on weekdays. Or maybe both stations could both stations could pick it up. Then Wings could be on for 2 hours before N@N's puny 3:30 a.m. airing.

I also wish other stations would also pick up Wings. Other long-running shows, like The Cosby Show, Friends, and Roseanne air on as many as three or four stations in an area. I don't understand why the same thing can't happen to Wings.

I know I've said it before and I'll say it again: I will NEVER understand the animosity towards Wings. EVER!!! I like it so much better than I like some of the critially-acclaimed, award-winning favorites out there.

Not that I agree with that, then why do they air a show a they consider "unpopular"?

I don't know how they can call Wings unpopular when it aired for 8 seasons and still has a decent fan base 6 years after it ended. It may not have the huge fan base that other shows do, but I think it still has a good amount of fans. Shows need time to developp an audience. N@N only gave Wings two weeks and those two weeks were during the war with Iraq.

yes i agree, I never meant to make it sound like WINGS was unpopular (perhaps that is the wrong word to use)... I mean Wings is not as "acclaimed" as sitcoms such as Cheers, Cosby or Roseanne.

As I only saw my first episode of WINGS ever this May, It is now my 2nd favourite show..next to Will & Grace.

I read at the Three's Company board that TC got moved to 3 a.m. starting in Sept, only one airing a day I guess, so TC fans know how Wings fans feel.

I bet N@N will say TC isn't popular either

"Three's Company" probably wound up on NICK'S "crap list" after the folks at NICK found out that John Ritter had guested on "Wings"!

And Amy Yasbeck guest-stared on The Cosby show. Maybe that will be the death knell for Cosby!
