dvdempire.com now lists both the First and Second season boxed set on their website.
I have advised Amazon that their information is outdated. They have confirmed that it will be updated shortly to reflect the correct availability date and show the availability of the Second season, too. Stop by my website for a look at the cool packaging for both Season one and Season Two. I have also listed the bonus footage included in each set. |

Ok, friends, I can't help it, but I'm getting excited again! I went over to Walnuttimes.com and saw the DVDS on DVD page. The bonus features look really great! I cannot WAIT to have these sets! I sure wish Doug Denoff would hurry up and update his site so we can order these from him. October cannot come fast enough for me!!!

This is good news.
Before I go ahead, though, I'd like to know the status of seasons 3-5. I believe these shows are collections, and before I invest that much money, I'd like some assurances we won't be left high and dry as we were with MTM. |

Good point, Joe F. Doug Denoff has assured us that there will be all 5 seasons. We have expressed this same concern to him in the past. It is a valid one. I've been watching my MTM season 1 dvds this week, feeling frustrated that there won't be any more. Lolac

Steve is absolutely correct. There are NO guarantees that we will get seasons 3 thru 5. Although Doug wants to make sure all 158 will come out, I don't think even he can guarantee anything.
The best hope we have of seeing all the seasons is to buy the first 2 when they come out in a couple of months. If sales are low, we might not get the other 3. Then again, it's possible that Image may have already committed to manufacturing all the disks, regardless of sales! We don't know because we aren't on the inside (any Image exec is free to post here and tell us that we have nothing to worry about ).Also, I've got it on good authority that the MTM season sets are absolutely DEAD in the water! That's a shame. I, like Lolac and others here, have season 1 and often wish we'd have gotten more. But the execs decided the sales for season 1 were way too poor to create a second season set. So let that be a lesson to all of us DVDS fans. Buy those puppies the day they come out!!!! B&W "I'd love to hear Doug tell us he guarantees all the episodes will be out on disk, regardless of what Image decides after seeing sales for seasons 1 & 2, but I doubt he's in a position to do so" fan |

I can't really afford to buy both DVD-on-DVD sets at once, but I will save up for one set, get the other as soon as I can save up for that, and encourage others to buy the sets. I think we all want to see the complete series, but I don't think we can expect a company to release a complete series unless the first releases make back their cost. Which brings up a question: One thingI heard about the flop of the MTM season 1 set is that consumers weren't willing to pay for a set that was more expensive than other sitcoms from the same era (such as M*A*S*H). Of course, the reason for the higher price is the incredible job Fox did on the extras: The documentary, commentaries, etc. The question is, is it better to release a series without any extras -- leading to a less-than-stellar presentation but a lower sales price? I don't know, but when a season 1 set comes out with extensive extras, I always worry that it might have priced itself out of season 2. |

THis may seem to be coming from a whiney teenagers point of view, but thats because it is.
I think its totally UNFAIR Seasons 2-7 of TMTMS aren't coming out, and I will probably be complaining the rest of my existance and then some. The prices WERE too high, but comin' Fox! More on DVD DVDs later, I have to go... |
