My boyfriend told me that he dropped out of high school, but that he has a high school diploma. Is he lying to me? He said that he got it from a school called American High School.

Ask him, cuz that doesn't make sense. Ask him how he got a diploma if he dropped out. It's quite a trick

Yeah, maybe it was night school or some correspondence course to get his G.E.D.

No, he probably wasn't lying. you can get a diploma by mail, but you have to take the test to get one, that's how my sister got hers.

I dropped out of high school and got my G.E.D. and am now going to college. But unless your boyfriend was only subtly teasing you, I say he's full of it.

Just ask him to show you his diploma, then you will know for sure if he has one.

Well I have a friend who got a "state diploma." It's suppose to be closer to a high school diploma than it is a G.E.D. My friend techincally did drop out of high school but did courses at the college to get the "state diploma."

If you drop out of school you can get a diploma through a homeschool high school. That's what I'm doing, but I didn't just drop out of High School. I decided to do homeschool after Junior High. You get a proper diploma, class ring, and everything. It's the same as a regular diploma- just you're doing the work at home. My b/f dropped out of High School also, and that's what he's doing to get his diploma.

I would have loved to have had the opportunity to study at home. I probably would have gotten much better grades and it sure would have save me a lot of grief and trauma.

I got a GED too. What school year did you drop out of aka?

The test was incredibly easy, almost too easy.
