Just wondering did any Current or Former College Students STOP watching their favorite sitcom once you graduated highschool and went to College? For example I followed Family Matters and Step by Step in High School and once I started college in 1993, I no longer watched either show. How bout anyone else?

When I got to college, I forced myself not to watch TV. At first, it was easy, because we didn't have one. But one day, we found a broken one by the side of the road and brought it home and fixed it. After that it took a lot of effort not to watch, but TV is the kiss of death in college, or, rather, the kiss of flunking out.

Um...yes and no. But it had nothing to do with school. I watched just as much TV in college as I did in hs.

Why would people stop watching their favorite sitcom when they start college?
I haven't found that my tv watching has changed at all since I started college in 2002. I wouldn't think it should. I guess some people watch less tv when they began college so they can study a lot. Or some people's tastes my just change when they get older, which may coincidently be when they start college. But I'm no different, and I certainly wouldn't suddenly not want to watch my favorite shows. |

I think in my case, it had something to do with Family Matters and Step by Step coming on Friday nights. And on Friday night in college, EVERYBODY WAS OUT DOING SOMETHING especially when you are a freshman. Not in my senior year, I caught up with Family Matters again. |

I didn't watch nearly as much TV while in college. There was no longer time for it and I was working also. Most of the sitcoms that I watched were getting boring by the time I reached college anyway so I was already losing interest in them. The only thing I continued to watch on a regular basis was Days of Our Lives. There was a TV in the rec room and a couple other girls and I would go in there at lunchtime and watch it.

I just watched more and more. I did finally quit watching Gilligan, but that's only cuz I'd seen every episode
Other than that, I've only watched more and more.I've completely quit watching sitcoms this year - but can you really blame me? I hate watching them dubbed in German. I can understand it - but it's so distracting I know I'm not gonna stop watching my shows next year! If only it weren't for all those pesky classes....

The town I live in turns bad at night, so I never go out, opt to stay at home instead. I'm fine that way.

But part of being a freshman is getting to know new people and going out and experiecing everything Campus life have to offer. So you may want to put hat TV how on hold for a while. I know you don't want to start your freshman staying indoors. Now when you became a senior then it won't matter if you watch your favorite Tv show because by that time you would have done everything and experience everything. The Senior Year is when the partying ends because you have to get ready to gradaute and make your grades are meeting qualifications. |

I know that if I apply to graduation school, its the first three years they really look at because I'll apply at the end of Junior year. Senior year for me definitely won't be the most important. |

LOL-i was saying that the SENIOR is when you really have to be focused because it's time to get ready for graduation. You still have to work hard each year. I just don't think it's a Good idea for a freshman to be indoors al the TIME. ometim s i but not al the time. |
