Job Application forms - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I hate how they're all so different. I'm not talking resumes here, just the application sheet.

Some want 1000 references. Others only want a couple. Some want every single class you've ever taken, some just want the last school you went to.

This one I'm filling out now wants 3 supervisory referneces. Ugh...I guess I could say I worked for three bosses, but one was my mother. They won't let that fly.

A rule of thumb about application forms: lie as often as needed.

I surely hope so!

Lying on job applications would lead to NOTHING but trouble.

I hate job applications with a PASSION.

I never want to fill out one of those damned things again.

I would like to use a resume.

I agree. Everything is more complicated than it should be.

Here's the worst thing: The job description says all you need is a hs diploma or a GED. But if you don't walk in with a bachelor's, you're underqualified. Ugh...then say that in the description! If you want a specific degree and not just any BA/BS, then be specific! It's not that hard.

I haven't filled out very many applications for jobs in my life, but so far none have been very big or rediculous. The only one that was crazy, was the one for Walgreens. I swear it was like 10 pages long! I said, this is stupid and decided to look for jobs at other places. 1000 references?? I don't even know that many people and I probably never know that many people combined in my entire life!

Y'know what I hate? When you're still in high school and they ask you if you graduated. You have to put 'no' (well, cuz I haven't yet, at least) but then ya feel dumb.

Applications definately are the crappiest part of getting a job.

i hated that too. id always right out beside it when i was going to graduate so they wouldnt think i was a dropout or something.

I remember that. I was glad when I graduated. Even more glad when I graduated college. I could stop checking "Some College."

A bit of advice:

In the section where they ask you if you ever have been convicted of a felony, never write "Only a small one."

Gah, I hate that. But then sometimes they ask for GPA as well and when I put 3.7, I think they figure I'm not a drop-out. But most of the time at the actual interviews they ask if you are still in school.

I could never lie on a job application. My conscience would kill me and I couldn't deal with that.

I can't believe people would lie on an application when it's much easier to simply tell the truth.
