Gone from TV Land in September - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Apparently, TV Land did not (or hasn't yet) renewed the contract to "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" It will stop airing August 30 so enjoy it while you can. This sucks so much, but hopefully it will return someday soon and get better timeslots than one morning airing

This does suck. I've known for awhile, but it still sucks. It's at times like these, I'm glad I taped the episodes while I had the chance. Hopefully TV Land will get it again in the future.

The least they (TVLand) could do is give it a rousing send-off, like having a "Mary" marathon during its last week. Nick at Nite used to do this: they gave a show's departure as much fanfare as its arrival. I always thought that was a nice touch. Now they let the show fizzle until the end, and then they just chuck it in the trash!

Guess I better tape it for the next month. It always interfered with something else I was taping. I always figured they'd move it to a better slot (even over night when I can just let the tapes run was good for me!) but not now

Bummer.

Man, I will miss this show terribly. This is the first I've heard about this. I do hope TV Land will show it again sometime. I'm glad I bought the first season DVD, now.

Even though, I haven't watched Mary since like 2001 I'm kind of sad that this show is leaving TV Land. If they would only play it at an hour I'm actually awake I'd watch. I'm sure Mary will make a comeback sometime in the future though.

I'm sad now. I actually got up at 9 this morning right before Mary came on so I watched her. It was 'Anchorman Overboard' with the scene Mary talks about her part as Juliet in her high school play of Romeo + Juliet. I love that scene.

I don't want her to leave I'll miss this show. Please don't leave, Mary! Okay, now that sounded pathetic.

But it's true I really don't want it to leave. I hope Nick at Nite picks it up or something.

Mary won't be totally leaving TV Land. Even though her own show is leaving the network, you can still catch her on another TV Land sitcom: The Dick Van Dyke Show. Starting next month, the show will be playing at 4:30 & 9:00am (replacing "Mary Tyler Moore") in the morning.

I know, but I don't watch TDVDS as much as TMTMS. Okay, so I haven't watched either lately because I'm usually not up, but I'd rather watch TMTMS over TDVDS.
