dude, you just explained why i have my feeling towards this show. TAGS has been on our local channel here in syndication since 1966. everyday except a two month period in the early eighties. then on TBS for years. now TVLAND has it on around the clock.
my point is, that it is a great show, but there is so much more not being aired while this is monopoloized. all we ever get around here is andy and lucy. we haven't had lucy for a decade now. but oh, TVLAND and nikolodeon took care of that issue, around the clock. this is not the only show around is my point, but to these channels, it is. Andy Haters of America, now taking applications. see me for details.

Hi, everybody,
This sounds like what they're doing with the Cosby show, on Nik at Nite. They show it waaaay too many times. They need some variety in their schedule. I don't think twice daily is too much for Andy Griffith though, but they really are skipping a lot of episodes. I guess they can't get the rights to all of the episodes or they would show them (?) Well, wadaya think? Jerry

I live in NC also and TAGS as BRY said has been played too death since 1966 in syndication. For years, our local CBS affiliate had an afternoon block of programming from 4-6 pm that always included TAGS. Other shows included were Gomer Pyle, I Love Lucy, Beverly Hillbillies, Wild Wild West , Daniel Boone, Death Valley Days etc... All of those shows have been replaced with talk shows and news but TAGS is still on at 5:30.
A long while ago, they started cutting out the closing credits entirely and the chop job is horrendous. I taped one episode and after commercials, it was just barely 19 minutes. The bad thing is that the majority of that commercial time was used to promote the 6:00 newscast.

i really have no problem with this show. my problem is with tv programmers.
my favorite episode is "man in a hurry". after i think 3 1/2 years on TVLAND, i have never seen it. if i don't watch the show, i have the tv on, so if i am at home, i know which one is one. |
