Question another question (hehe)

on all the episodes of FOL i've seen, natalie smirks alot (like she's about to crack up laughing) after she says a funny line, and i've seen blair trying to hold in laughter before, like during the paint fight and stuff. but has anyone ever seen tootie or jo trying to hold in laughter? that always amazed me, cause i never noticed either of them about to laugh after saying a funny line. anyone else ever see that?

well i have seen that... but the reason that i think tootie and jo have really never been seen smirking is becuase they are both big experienced actresses and have been acting since they were VERY little... so they can keep a straight face better than lisa who wasn't that experinced except for the new mickey mouse club and mindy had absolutely NO experience, but it is cute to see that mindy got the chance of a lifetime without even trying.. it's sooo cute... i hope that someday i'll be sitting in a coffee shop or somethign writing a script for the heck of it and then some person comes and is just liek will you be a screen writer for this new show we're doing and it's liek soemthign like fol... that woudl be sooo AWSOME!! hehe.. i can dream can't i?

jo: mrs. g gone on ahead I KNOW i can fix the problem
MRs. G: jo only twice in my life have i spoke in an arbitrary manner, once when my ex husband morgaged our home to pay the bookee, and now, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE OR I'LL BEAT YOU WITH MY FRYING PAN!!!

Jo: Woaw Nat!! (grabs blairs palm tree from nat) Nice Girls Don't Throw Trees!!!

blair: now jo i know we usually dont agree but that was a scuzy thing for your mother to do!
tootie: wahts so scuzy about it!?!? dont you read the national enquirer, some of the best people are Shacking up!!
mrs. g: TOOTIE!!! im surrounded by x-rated kids!!!

Yep. In the episode "Dearest Mommie" When Blair tries to do around the world, you can see Jo and Tootie trying to hide their faces because they're laughing so hard. I don't know if that was what you were asking since it wasn't a funny line, but that's the only time I've seen Jo laugh after something funny.

Mindy (Natalie) always had a smirk because she never took acting lessons and was just 'discovered' by accident, so that sorta explains hers.

As for Tootie, in I saw her crack a smile maybe on or two times in the 1st and 2nd season, but not that often. Kim took acting classes when she was young so...

Nancy (Jo) never took acting classes, but I read an interview she did once and the person asked her how come she was able to keep such a straight phase. Her response was something to the affect of, 'I never took classes, but I relate to Jo so well the part omes very natural to me. Also, I concentrate very hard at everything I do, so I'm very focused in once I go out on stage'. She's a very talented actress.

As for Lisa (Blair) the only time I remember her cracking a smile is in the first season every once in a while when she got into those fights with Sue Ann. Other than that...
Lisa was a great actress who played Blair perfectly!

Probably more than you wanted to know but...

hey, i think i found one! last nite in the one where blair is selling the make-up, tootie was reading from the book about how to be a good sales girl. she said something like "be kind and considerate" and blair was like, "when am i not?" and tootie just stared at her for a minute. i think she was gonna laugh, and then when she read her next line she was smirking!

I think that the smirking you are seeing from Blair is part of her character, rather than a slip-up by Lisa. I think Blair likes to beem a radiant smile. She's also very flirtatious, and the smile fits that personality.
