Default How many People Feel the Ending in the episode when Vanessa sneaks to Baltimore was

INCOMPLETE? The episode ends without viewers knowing how Vanessa was punished for sneaking to Baltimore. Agree?

I know what you mean, lots of episodes are left up in the air.

What about the ending of 'adventures in babysitting'?

(review of the episode here:
http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet...81/epid-12908/ )

Rudy and Olivia have effectively ruined Cliff and Claire's room. They have put garlic and raw steak all over the room, and yet Cliff and Claire are simply amused! There seem to be no repercussions or anything. (Though if you read the 'goofs and nitpicks' section of the above review, maybe there was one that was cut )

Do you think that would have been a better ending?

Wouldn't it be great if there were secret episodes which were never aired! And they were the continuation of some of those shows which have no endings, or an even totally different story which they didn't how to fit in? That would be great!!

Not really... when Vanessa said she wanted her punishment before going to bed, it looked like if Cliff hadn't stopped her, Clair was going to just deck her.

But still, I think the idea of WHAT the punishment was didn't make a difference. It was just simply the idea that they went to this concert without giving all the information (like that it was in Baltimore), and then the fact that there was a fire near the house where Vanessa was supposed to be staying at, and leaving Clair fearing for her daughter's safety, while Vanessa was nowhere near there, and some three states away.

Basically, the punishment was irrelevant, as that last scene, though definitely emotionally charged, was the "moral of the story", as they drive home WHY what Vanessa did was wrong.

Yeah, I agree. I think all the producers and writers were trying to do was get a point across to those teens watching to always tell your parents everything. And when you don't , then something like what happened to Vanessa could happen to you.

Yea, that may be very well true about the lesson being that, but within the storyline, Bill and Claire was really in a tuff bind in this situation.
I think a sort of punishment is definitely needed, because this was the first time that they addressed the problem of their kids doing potentially very harmful things to themselves and Claire and Bill having nothing to do to stop them. For if they don't know, then they can't do anything, it was different from before when they were younger if the kids lied, then grape juice spilled all over the kitchen from a machine, or they came 15 min. late from track practice. Vanessa could have been really hurt and Bill and Cliff couldn't have done anything about it.
How would Cliff and Claire deal with that kind of problem, and that's what i think they realized at the end of the show, and that's why i think it would have been good to see some sort of punishment or at least a talk to vanessa.

I really don't think vanessa learned any lesson that night, she wasn't sorry she did it, just sorry she got caught. She's always going around saying" Ohhh, i'm sorrry, i'm sorry, why are u being so mean, i never do things like this, i'll never do it again" and then she goes and does another stupid thing and says the same thing again. And if you think about it always has to do with lying, come to think of it, she's probably a pathological liar and doensn't kno it.
