Default Web Design

I'm curious as to the process of going into web designing.

My websites I've done have been basic and I'm interested in expanding my knowledge and possibly beginning a web design business in the future.

I can't go to school for a variety of reasons including cost BUT I was wondering if there are really good websites on basic design that I can learn from and teach myself.

Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Let me add that I'm a single parent who works already and I'm trying to explore ideas that will help me better the life I have for myself and my daughter, keeping the job I have and then being able to do work from my home.

The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

I use http://www.ipowerweb.com, and their builder is http://www.ipowerweb.com/ipage. They give a really good service and no HTML is required.

Yeah but that's the whole point... she wants to learn to design websites, and the most basic script for that would be HTML. So therefore she wants HTML to be required so she can learn

Amazon.com has many books available, and programmes to buy that have good reviews. Many people have said that the books have been successful in helping them with web design. I was interested too for a while- but don't really have much time to learn, and couldn't really afford to begind web designing. Maybe in the future.

Thanks for pointing that out Miss Karly! I want to learn HTML, more than just the basic that I know.

I want to learn how to do graphics and all. Learning to make the blends will help me out a LOT.

I didn't have time to do that last night. Hopefully today I can work on it.

Even if I can learn to design just graphics and such, that would be a huge step towards it!!!!!!!

Oh..It may be a little hard because they mostly don't require HTML.

My mom doesn't have a job that she goes to, but she does design websites for my dad and I think 3 other people. As well as doing my dad's transcriptions. NEwayz...she I think learned most of it from HTML for Dummies. And I think she might have had a lil bit of help from some person when she was first starting out...but *shrugs*. She has some sorta program she uses...I THINK...not sure tho.
