I watch Unsolved Mysteries fairly regularly. The unexplained segments are what interest me the most.
I have never seen the "bunk beds" segment. Could someone tell what it's about? Also, the most chilling ghost story I ever saw on this show was about the Civil War ghosts. It had to do with two women who were in an office (I think) and they were in an elevator. They wanted to get to a certain floor, but the elevator sent them to the basement. When the doors opened they saw a ghostly Civil War hospital, with patients being operated on and so forth. One of the ghost doctors looked right at them. I would like to see this episode again, despite being spooked silly by it. Does anyone know when it will air? |

The bunk beds segment was about this couple who bought a set of secondhand bunkbeds for their 2 sons, The first night the kids slept in them strange things started happening. The clock radio would turn on by itself. The couple also has a little girl who claimed to see ghosts in the house and another time a neighbor or relative was spending the night and was sleeping on the floor and woke up screaming because he saw a ghost. I don't remember much else about that segment but the family felt that the strange goings on had something to do with the bunkbeds so the parents had them destroyed.

As for the bunkbed hauntings, I have this episode and it occured in Wisconsin around 1987ish.
Things got so bad in the house that they eventually moved out and then had the bunkbed destroyed. This was one of the very first "ghost episodes" that aired on Unsolved Mysteries and it was on Halloween night 1988. |

I just saw the story of the Civil War Ghosts. I loved this story. I loved how they filmed some of the events, such as the door closing on its own and the window shutter opening on its own. I wonder how they filmed them. Not sure whether or not these events are true or not, it could be just the museum trying to generate publicity, but it is still an interesting story.
