Post Something thats bothering the hell outta me...

WHY in eveyrones fanfic they make it so they are seeing each other for the first time in 12 years!!! I mean come on! There not splitting up, just going in different directions!!! Real friends wouldnt split up like that, and if I wrote a fanfic, I would make it so that they are maybe having a reunion with them all together, but not like they all have lost touch for 13 years!!!! Does anyone else feel this way???

Jo: Blair, if you like that song so much, then why are you doing that to it?
Blair: Doing what?
Jo: Singing it like Julie Andrews.

Then look on the shelf
There might be a clue
Maybe in a book."

I agree. In the last episodes Blair was taking over Eastland and Jo was looking for an apartment apparently in Peekskill so they both were going to stay in town. Tootie was going to leave for London for 6 months and Natalie was just an hour or two away in Soho.
Mrs Garrett was the only one who moved far away but that was supposed to have only been for two years. Of course, we haven't seen a new episode in nearly 13 years so it is easy to write the fanfics as if none of the characters have seen each other in those years.

I don't know if anyone has done it but it would be cool to see someone pick up the story from when the series ended in 1988.

Tootie: Muffy? Her name is Muffy? What kind of person is named Muffy?

Jo: Beats me, Tootie.

To jump onto this bandwagon here, I'm a little annoyed about the flurry of scripts that have Blair in an abusive relationship. Blair had way too much self-esteem and demanded so much out of her boyfriends that I doubt we'd ever see her with someone who didn't treat her like a princess. If you want abuse to make the story interesting, I'd have to throw my hat towards Tootie for being the one who put up with a slap here and there.

I don't want to sound crabby, cuz I really enjoy reading these scripts/fan fics. The only thing I have a problem with is when these scripts don't fit the girls characters.

Just my two cents.

Well, I'm in the middle of writing a reunion with my friend, and the way we wrote it, they've kept touch, and seen each other, but haven't ALL been together. Blair lives in Eastland and sees Beverly Ann, Andy, and Pippa all the time. Natalie lives in Long Island and seen them occasionally, and her daughter's seen Beverly Ann once. Mrs. G lives in Ohio and the only person she's seen is Beverly Ann. Tootie lives in upstate NY and she's kept in touch. As for abusiveness, Nat and Snake are divorced and have joint-custody over their daughter, and Snake's been abusing the daughter. That's about it...

They probably would have kept in touch, seeing as how good of friends they are..., but don't go jumping on the fanfic writers about how they write their stories or portray their characters.

Everyone has a different view on what makes a character tick, so you can't say that "these scripts don't fit the girls characters", because the real matter is that they just don't fit Your perception of the characters.

Nothing wrong with disagreeing about the portrayal of a character, but that doesn't necissarily mean the character's wrong. You just have a different viewpoint on the character's personality. (No offense intended on this post, just pointing out something)

Ok.. I probably should stop posting today. I just finished ranting on Lifetime's Division board, only to come here and do the same thing! LOL. I must be cranky or something..

(Couldn't have anything to do with getting, like, 2 hours sleep, hmm?) LOL
