"All Good Things..." "...Must Come To An End"; so said the episode titles for each portion of the double-length Series Finale for Dawson's Creek. Watched by the WB Network's biggest audience (over 7 million viewers), and written by show creator Kevin Williamson, this one took fans back to the show's basics, and wrapped up everything.

Or did it? Rumors have gone around that scenes featuring newer characters were cut, because they weren't part of Williamson's original cast. Well, perhaps we'll get to find out at the end of September.

That's because on 9/30, Columbia is releasing Dawson's Creek: The Series Finale - Exclusive Never-Before-Seen Director's Cut. With a list price of $24.95, this DVD features over 25 minutes of new material never broadcast, bringing the running time of this episode to 102 minutes.

When I saw this on tvshowsondvd.com I started wondering if by them coming out with this dvd does that mean that the whole series won't be released on dvd? Because it would make more since to add this directors cut to a season six dvd set. Unless they figure that people couldn't wait for all the seasons to come out before they got that episode. Because when you think about it you are paying $24.98 for one episode when the season sets run at about $29.99(you can find them cheaper if you preorder or get them the week it comes out)for 23 episodes. I don't know about most people but I'm going to hold out for the rest of the series to be released on dvd and see if the director's cut is on the season six set before I go out and by this one episode dvd.
