Smile My grandma went to high school with Andy Griffith.

Yeah, I don't know much else, but she went to high school with him. I live in Carolina Shores, NC, but was born in Winston-Salem. I am OBSESSED with learning about my family, and would love to recieve an e-mail from you if you have any info on Andy. Thanks!

That is very interesting. There are some geneology forums online where you could find more info about your family tree. For more recent updates on Andy and Mayberry events, check out Christian Activities: Mayberry

That is cool! I was born in Winston Salem myself! I lived in Piolet Mountain. It was refered to as Mt. Piolet on the show and mentioned quite a few times at that! I went to church in Mt Airy, Andy's home town. At some point in time my mom met Andy's cousin!

Ricardo/Mertz:
I live in Mt. Airy, andy's hometown and I know several people who knew Andy as a kid. The reason why Andy Griffith doesn't ever come back to Mt. Airy is because when he was young and went to school here he was made fun of because he came from a very poor family. We have a railroad track in Mt. Airy and all the rich people lived on one side of the tracks and the poor people on the other and Andy lived on the wrong side of the tracks.

Have a nice day!
God Bless!

All the "rich kids" that made fun of Andy sure ate their words. I cannot stand bullies!

Do you know how to get an original quote in the top of your message without typing all of the quote?

As a matter of fact I do. Just click the little quote icon on the top of the message you want to quote. Then when it appears on your reply screen you can backspace the parts you want to leave out.
