Default GI question to wonder

When Gilligan and Skipper are alone in their hut at night both men sleep in hammocks. But in the ep when the girls leave, and when Mr. Howell and the Professor move into Gilligan's hut, all four men sleep in beds.

PS For that matter. why did the Professor move in at all in that ep? He lived alone normally.

It's because in the first season of the show all the single guys were leaving in the same hut.

actually, it's because they had one "community hut" in the first season. that's why they were taking down all the sheets and stuff that acted as walls. the women moved out, and the men took the whole hut. but, i don't recall them all sleeping in beds. weren't the Skipper and Gilligan still in their hammocks? i've seen that episode quite a few times, and i seem to remember them in hammocks.

What do you mean they were in bed? They had a hammock of their own!Just like they had in all the other seasons.

You mix up the second season and the first. In the second season, the professor was leaving alone.Remember the second episode of the first season...When they're building the huts. They were all leavingl in the same hut. That why the professor was in the hut with the skipper&Gilligan

The professor and Mr.Howell always had beds to sleep in it's the Skipper&Gilligan who had hammocks.Like they had in that episode too.

Ahem....here are two descriptions for this episode:

"St. Gilligan and The Dragon - Angry because the men haven't kept their promise to build them private houses, the women decide to move to the other side of the island in protest. Gilligan and the Skipper dress as a monster, in an attempt to frighten the girls and cause them to come running back. "

"St. Gilligan And The Dragon
The women of Gilligan's Island "walk off the reservation." Angry because the men don't keep their promise to build them private houses, the females move away and establish a 'Girl's Town.'"

They were all still living in the same hut. The men took down the blankets separating the "rooms" after the women left.

And I seem to remember hammocks for Gilligan and the Skipper in that episode, too. It's on this week--let's watch it and make sure, OK?

I remember their hammock situation changed a little when Wrongway Feldman moved in. Their hammocks went sideways in that ep (usually they're one on top of the other). Also, why when Jackson Farrell tied up Skipper, Gilligan, and Professor did he put all of them in a bed each. Where were their Skipper and Gilligan's hammocks?

Yeah, I was thinking about that Jackson Farrell episode, too, earlier when I was answering the other question. I guess the hammocks wouldn't have worked for that stunt where they stood up, still tied to the beds, LOL.

I guess they used the professor's bed and the Howell's beds.Like I said only Gilligan & the Skipper sleep in hammocks. The others have beds and it's like that from the first ep till the end of the show.Of course, for a scene like in the ep of Jackson Ferrel. They had to change the situation for the stunt. It impossible to get up like that from a hammock...For the Wrong way's ep,they had to displace the hammocks for the jokes...

Sometimes, they had ajusted the objects in the room for a scene...
Remember it's a tv show

The episode where the women move out (St. Gilligan and the Dragon) is on today on TVLand at 430 EDT. We can see about the hammocks.
