Default If the Eddie Winslow character was supposed to be Cool and a Ladies Man, why was

his friend a NERD like Urkel? I always found that strange that Eddie was supposed to be this cool guy and his sidekick was Waldo Heraldo Faldo-Did that make sense to anyone else?

The thing about him being friends with Steve; it was a running "thing" on the show that Steve couldn't be seen in public with Eddie. "Cool guys" tend to have feelings they don't want to share with most people for fear they'll destroy their image, and being seen with Steve-- that would qualify as destroying his "cool guy" image.

Something that never made sense to me is how Waldo went from being the school Bully's sidekick in Season 2, to Eddies best friend in Season 3. I guess they liked his charachter so much that they wanted to find a way to keep him in the cast as a regular, and by having him be one of Eddie's friends was the only way they could do it.

Urkel was a neighbor who was after his sister. I can see how he would come in contact with him because after awhile your neigbors despite their afflications can be friends when they are in your living space like Urkel was. My question is why would Eddie hang with someone as STUPID as Waldo? Sure Eddie wasn't a genius but that character was way over the STUPID limit to the point where he just wasn't funny to me because he was so STUPID!!

Default Here's what I think

To prove that Eddie really was NOT cool as he appear to be. You all said so yourself, "cool guys" need to maintain an image. Waldo, being as stupid as he is, proved that Eddie was not really a cool dude.
