I just saw this episode and I can't believe June got that crazy,it was hilarious! LOL!! I have never seen her that freaked out since Beaver ran away but then I haven't seen every episode.
I think Ward would have been more calm if June wasn't freaked out. LMAO when Wally was driving.

It's a fairly good ep, but you have to bite the unreality of how it begins; with Wally celebrating his 17th birthday, and then it is a complete shock to June, and Ward also, that Wally is now eligible to start driver's training to get his license. Remember in the previous season's ep, "Beaver Takes a Drive," that Wally says in the judge's chamber that he will be eligible to get his license in "2 months and 12 days," and Ward agrees that he then assumes responsibility for Wally's driving. And even in this same ep, Wally and Beaver both remark how much Wally has talked about being able to drive. So W & J wouldn't just be floored all of a sudden by Wally wanting to get his license. As in almost any home with teenagers, the time for getting a driver's license is referred to quite often, I'm sure.
And Tony Dow must have thought it was silly that he was to get in the driver's seat flooring the accelerator and not knowing why the car wouldn't start . Again, in "Beaver Takes a Drive" Wally knew how to start and drive the car
