Who likes it? There are practically no posts about it. My favorite teams are the Canucks and Wings.

I used to watch hockey on regular basis from 1989 to 1997. My favorite team, during that time span was the Washington Capitals. But ever since 1998, I don't have a favorite hockey team anymore and I only watch certain hockey games (especially around the time of the NHL Finals). |

Hockey is my sport. My team is the Ottawa Senators.
To get this thread going, I got a couple of questions for the person who started this thread. 1. What do you think will happen with Curtis Joseph? 2. Will Sergei Fedorov be back with Detroit? |

Answers to your questions:
1. I think he'll end up in the East. No way the Wings are that stupid to give him to a conference foe. Maybe Boston even. I thought Philly but then they got Hackett. 2. I thought from the start he would remain with them. I didn't think and team would want to pay that much money for him. He will probably sign for 8-10 mil. What do you think? |

I used to love going to the arenas as a kid with my family and watching the games live. But watching hockey on tv is about as enjoyable as watching grass grow in my view. Just not enough action for my taste.

The Curtis Joseph scenario, there is a lot to consider.
1. He has a no trade clause, so he would have to approve the trade. Why did the Red Wings give him one? 2. I can't see him going to a western conference playoff team either, so that really limits the GM options. 3. Dominek Hasek could be rusty, being out for a year. Trading Curtis could be risky. 4. I can't see him going to Boston, Boston is known for being cheap. 5. He will not be happy being a backup. He was pulled after game 1 at the Olympics, Canada won gold, yet he was unhappy. 6. I think this will drag on into next season, how this will be resolved, I don't know. As for Sergei, a couple of weeks ago, his agent said something like Sergei's 13 year career in Detroit is over. Now his agent is saying something like, never say never. Sergei seem angry at the Detroit organization for some reason. |

I'm also a Wings fan but the only real time I watch hockey are when they are in the playoffs. I do agree that Hasek is going to be a little rusty, why didn't he just stay after we won the Cup last year? Oh well, football's my sport so I can't talk too much on this.

Sergei is now a Mighty Duck. The manager of Anaheim felt he needed a big name to replace Paul Kariya.
The Curtis Joseph situation is a mess. Curtis would not only have to waive his no-trade clause, he would have a say where he would want to play. Obviously the Red Wings didn't expect Hasek back, but giving a no trade clause was a mistake. I'm just surpised that the Red Wings would give him a no trade clause, because I always thought that the Red Wings were one of the better run teams in the NHL. As for Hasek coming back, I think the reason is that he's suspended for a year in the league he had been playing in Europe, for assaulting some player. |
