I recently heard where the Drew Carey show will indeed produce a Season 9 slated to air in the Fall of 2003. However ABC has said they are done with Drew Carey in August when they finish airing the episodes that were pulled from this past season. Drew Carey Show had a contract where it would run through 2004, but its ratings were so bad ABC did not want to give it a timeslot on the Fall 2003 Lineup, however TBS is going to show the new episodes starting this fall, and then they will go into syndication. I assume it will only be a half-season.

I haven't seen anything about this. My thinking is that even though ABC doesn't want the show, since they paid for it they would want to get whatever they can out of these episodes. On the other hand, so would Warner Bros. Why not air them on TBS, which they own and also airs reruns every day?
