Post Blair Warner Smoking?

Help me out here. In the first episode, Mrs. G says: "When you get up in the morning, your so sophisticated, you smoke and you talk a good game" I've never seen Blair smoke before, so why did hey put it in the script?

blair told her that that was just talk...i think mrs. garret was just making that up to prove the point that u can't always believe everything u hear, or what other people say about u.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!! You all must be little kids!! hehe... when mrs. g says you smoke and you talk a good game she is meaning that she acts liek she is the hottest girl ont he earth and she says what guys wanna hear to GET the guys... she doesn't meant that she smokes cingarrettes and talks a good game... haha!! that whole conversation between Mrs. G and Blair int hat episode was Mrs. G saying that Blair was easy and she has probably let guys have sex with her... But mrs. g was just saying that cuz she knew that Blair was sensitive abotu that subject and she wanted to show Blair about how Cindy was sensitive about her sexuality preference which Blair earlier taunted... so you see... Mrs. Garrett doesn't say that blair smokes cigarretts she is saying that she smokes and talks a good game like she acts all sexy and easy towards guys... Gosh you are such amatures when it comes to things... you know on the ticket stubs children under 12 were not permited perhaps if you are under 12 you shouldn't be watching... jsut a thought

jo: mrs. g gone on ahead I KNOW i can fix the problem

Jo: Woaw Nat!! (grabs blairs palm tree from nat) Nice Girls Don't Throw Trees!!!

blair: now jo i know we usually dont agree but that was a scuzy thing for your mother to do!
tootie: wahts so scuzy about it!?!? dont you read the national enquirer, some of the best people are Shacking up!!
mrs. g: TOOTIE!!! im surrounded by x-rated kids!!!

Cool

Ummm.. no FOL85NatandMrsGRock.. I think you are misinterpreting her comments.. Why couldn't Blair have actually been smoking? You must not have seen the pilot episode before.. The Blair character was similiar in the pilot and in Rough Housing (of course she never played the guitar like she did in the pilot though). Go to this page and tell me you don't see Blair with a cigarette in her hand - http://www.factsoflife.com/ns40page/...ilot/pilot.htm

The part about her smoking was true, but the other part of her being so sophisiticated and talking a good game I agree that Mrs. G. was just leading her on.

Those pictures from the pilot were really funny. Hope Diff'rent Strokes comes back strictly for that reason. Looks like they wanted Blair to be a real bad-ass in the first season. Glad they changed her though to a strictly goody-two-shoes rich snob.

yeah, didn't they say in the "E! True Hollywood Story" that Lisa's character was originally supposed to be "a fast talking girl from Texas," but then she said something snotty w/out realizing it, so they decided to make her character the one we all know and love as Blair, rich and snotty. so that's probly why they had her smoking and stuff in the pilot.

When Mrs. Garrett said that Blair smoked SHE DID! I too saw the DS episode when I was younger and that was one of Blair's many things to do in the beginning. However they were smart to change that around. So the "You smoke" line was not an interpretation hinting anything. It simply meant she smoked as in huff puff smoking. You need to see the pilot in order to understand. All these years I took it to mean that she did indeed smoke becasue she's done it before.

Great link, TJ! Funny how the school was first known as 'Eastlake.' I wonder why they changed the name??

MRS. G: Where'd you get the beer?
JO: I got beer.
*audience laughter*

MRS. G: Blair,
Blair, Blair, Blair, Blair.
BLAIR: Yes, yes, yes, yes?
MRS. G: You taught me, uhh... let me think a minute.

TOOTIE: I'm too young to play bridge, it's boring!
MRS. G: Come on tootie, try! It's fun! *giggles*
TOOTIE: I'm too young!
MRS. G: Your too young to play bridge..

BEV: Why won't you talk to me?
NAT: We're sad that Mrs. Garrett is leaving.
BEV: You know, I must admit, I am a little jealous, because Frank and I, we never had, you know, ***.
*Blair, Jo, Nat, and Tootie look at Bev strangely*
