I've noticed George often wore a ring on his left hand, little finger. I think it has a green stone in it. Anyone know what the story is behind it?

And persistence pays off. I read an article on the New York Times website about pinky rings. It seems pinky rings were considered a status symbol among members of the Friars Club. The bigger and shinier pinky ring you wore the more of a success your career must be. As a member of the Friars Club George Burns naturally wore a pinky ring as did many of his fellow club members.
