Actually it airs at 1:30PM Eastern Time on TBS. It also airs on Nick At Nite as well as WGN and 50+ locals still air it.

I would disagree that it's the best ever, (cough cough Cheers cough cough) but it's up there in the top twenty. I do agree though that they completely over play it. Where I live It's played at least 8 times a day in different stations, and 4 of those times is on Nick at Nite. I have seen every single episode around 6 times, and have only been watching it since 2001. I don't even watch it anymore..

I love The Cosby Show, i could watch every episode and still not get bored with it. I've never really watched Cheers so I wouldn't know if it is good or not but I'm guessing it must be since it has a dvd out already! Unlike The Cosby Show

Oh it is....trust me it is! lol Let me just say this for Cheers, it had 11 seasons (the second most long running sitcom in history, Mash was first), However it beat Mash because it had more episodes per season so when Mash finished it had 250 episodes Cheers had 275, And the very last episode was just as good as the first one! Every single episode is great! It quit while it was still on top, it could have still gone on for a 12 season in the Nielson top 10

the cosby show is one of the most well rounded show's i've ever seen. the history and story's behind each character was well thought out. THough the family did stuff that maybe not every family would do, it wasn't so unorthodox that a regular family couldn't do it. If they would, is different.

i've seen cheers a few times, and it's sort of funny, not my cup of tea though, maybe cuz i'm not an alcoholic like all of those guys in the show.

and i think i've figured out why cheers has a dvd and the cosby show doesn't. cheers doesn't make any more money off of people watching it on tv anymore so they put it on dvd to get some dough out of it. But with the cosby show, they are still raking in the cash, that's why alot of networks still broadcast it. if they put it out on dvd, then people would have no need to watch it on tv cuz they have the dvd's and they wouldn't make money anymore.
makes much more sense now..

That's not true, 60 minutes interviewed James Burrows recently (the creator of Cheers) and they were asking him about how much he get's paid for syndication, he wouldn't say because it was a lot (his own words) he doesn't like to talk about that amount of money. Then the interviewer said something like (it's not an exact quote but this is what he got across)"Well it must be a lot since Cheers is number one in syndication and is doing EXTREMELY well on Nick at Nite....

It is out on DVD because of the fact that they KNEW it would make a lot of money, because it does so well on Nick...

You apparently were not watching closely, there is ONE alcoholic in Cheers who does NOT drink, and that's Sammy the owner of the bar. It's a show about a family, maybe not your regular mom, dad and kids family, but a family nonetheless. Plus I would love to have the sexual tension between Cliff and Clair, compete with the historic sexual tension between Sam and Diane...

Oh yea and something I forgot to add, the presence of mr. cosby in nickelodeon is a bit strong. He owns stock in the company, and you can tell that he has some authority over what goes on in there because We have on nick jr. "little bill", "Kids Say the Darnest things" which is NOT a tv. Classic or even sitcom for that matter, and the "Cosby show" on for two hours a night plus now in the summer marathons you guys get one hour regardless. Plus he announced an adult cartoon for Nick at nite, created by himself.....hmmm.....makes you wonder a little bit? The fact that new shows kept coming in last fall and most of the other shows got pushed back and cosby was given an extra hour? The fact that kids say the darnest things kept coming back and forth to the 9-10 timeslot and moving cosby to the 10-11 slot...but then was always after at least 2 weeks quickly moved back when they realized nobody was watching kids say...?

I'm not saying the cosby show is not a good show, again It's in the top 20 ever, but it seems to me that the studios are a bit influenced by Mr. Cosby...and you all know what I'm talking about because I have seen you guys debate over his trying to control lisa bonet...Theo's friend...and over every aspect of the show......
