I guess I'm selfish and lonely. I put my happiness above bills. I'd marry him too.

I'd marry him. As long as we're happy, I don't care too much about the money factor.

I'm playing Devil's Advocate- why would your parents make you pay the rest of your way through college?

Answer that and I'll state my conclusion

cause they don't approve of you getting married before you graduate from college.. they want you to wait till afterwards so you'll be more financially stable

Money problems can cause a huge strain on a marriage, even on one that would be very happy otherwise. It is better to wait until both are financially secure. If it is true love, it'll wait.

Oh duh...... it's 12:15 a.m. I'm tired.

Anyway... okay. You two talk it through; you could do one of two things-

1] Get married now. But... keep in mind you'll have debts, and you might even start a family... which is money put on top of debts.

2] Wait until you graduate with your degree. That way you can be sure that you'll be a little more financially stable than you were if you went with choice 1.

I don't understand why getting married will make life more expensive for the two people, except for the college debt of course. Unless one or both are living with their parents, which doesn't seem likely at that age, then they would end up sharing expences like rent and food and all of that. They should actually be able to live less expensively, in some ways, because of being married. Oh, and, don't have any children for awhile yet.
