Why did Sondra and Elvin have to Follow in Clair and Cliff's footsteps? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I saw that episode last night on N@N and it was so weird. Just because crazy Clair and Goofy Cliff was a Lawyer and Doctor, that didn't mean Sondra and Elvin had to do the same. Then i didn't like the reaction of Clair and Cliff when they went to their apartment. They had to realize that Sondra and Elvin was just starting out and wasn't in position to buy a house like they had. I guess thAt is one of those episodes when Clair and Cliff show how Stuck and materialistic they really are.

i think that they felt like if they had finished what they started then maybe they would have lived in something better. to me cliff and claire never showed that they were stuck up or materialistic. they just wanted what was best for their children.

That episode of the Cosby Show was very realistic of young people searching for who they are by trying different things. I was glad in that storyline they did not solve the problem in 22 minutes. It was explored for a season and a half. We see how Elvin decided to pursue his wanting to go into medicine after the twins arrived.

ik that was kinda cheesy i mean when rudie, vanessa, theo, and denise were growing up i slighty remember cliff or claire saying "you can be what ever you want to be....just remember we love you" but they neva said that to sondra...am i right??
