Default How many people would have like to see Fonzie retire the leather Jacket once

Happy Days entered the 8th season? Like for example, when he settled down with Ashely, was the leather Jacket Still Necessary? I guess my point is by the early 80's, the Fonzie character had already establshed hisself as COOL so why did it have to continue? Thoughts?

Once you reach a certin age you don't have to prove that you are cool anymore-He had settled down and still wore that jacket

The producers didn't need to make that is signature after the show reached it's 8th and 9th year.

Maybe he liked the jacket?Maybe it was cold motorbiking in a t-shirt? Maybe because The Whole Planet loved the jacket? Look, Fonzie is a sort like a cartoon hero, he has patterns , like saying "aayyy" or the thumbs up or "whoaah" and the jacket is part of that character.

I have a good explanation for why he still wore that jacket...

He still rode his motercycle and didn't want to skin his arms if he ever crashed (which he did a couple times) Leather is actully the next safest thing to actueal protective gear.

Could be he was afraid people wouldn't reconize it if he didn't have it. Or maybe we're back to the "It's comfortable" explantion.

People got used to seeing him in a leather jacket, so it might look weird if he just stopped wearing it. I liked how he wore it all the time-- lol. Since he was in his 30s playing a character that was in his 20s, the jacket made him seem/look younger and Fonzie's age instead of Henry's. Just my theory

He loved wearing it and fans of the show loved seeing him wearing it. I would NOT like seeing him retire the leather jacket.

that was his trademark and that's that.

But he had become a family man and settled down. So why did he still have to present that cool image? Everyone know he was cool so thejacket could have been removed

Maybe he liked presenting that image. NO! the jacket was his trademark. Being a family man and settling down doesn't mean you can't still be cool. That was no image. HE WAS COOL!
