Wink We Don't Need Another Superman Movie!

Okay, it's been a while since I've gone of on a tangent about something, so here goes.

Along with all the talk of a new Batman movie, they are also trying to get a new Superman franchise off the ground (bad pun, I am so sorry) and like Batman, every hot young star is up for the role, blah blah blah....

Do we need another Superman movie?

No.

Why?

In one word - "Smallville."

This is the new Superman franchise folks.

It really pisses me off that they would even think about creating yet another take on Superman, when the folks at Smallville are doing such a great job reinventing the whole Superman history.

Why don't they wait a few years and when "Smallville" goes off the air, then spin them off into a movie!

Must I come up with all the answers!

Okay, I'm done.
I think I pulled something. Must lay down...

I agree with you. We've already seen the story of Superman in so many forms (The Adventures of Superman, the Superman movies, Cartoons, Lois and Clark, and Smallville). There really is no need to make another movie about it. I also think making another Batman movie would be a bad idea considering that the latest Batman movie, Batman & Robin, STUNK, imo.

There would be nothing better than Superman and/or Batman movies, if they were good, but the people who own these franchises have shown their complete inability to create good movies, at least after the first one or two. For both series, the first one or two were flawed but interesting, and all subsequent entries were abysmal.

Maybe they should wait say.......... 15 years? to make a new Superman movie. So it could feel FRESH and NEW.

I heard that they wanted Kevin Smith ( ie Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob strike back) to direct it. Then fired him because of creative differences.

Well...as you can tell Superhero movies are doing well ...Spiderman,X-men,The Hulk,Daredevil....but those are all marvel comics, so of course dc comics wants a crack at the movies. So they probably want to make the movies while they are still hot. I agree in a sense Superman & Batman has been done, dc comics has other heros that should get a shot. Why not do Flash or Green Lantern. Or even yet a better idea....the Justice League of America (if you dont know what this comic is, its basically batman, wonderwomen, flash, green lantern, superman and a bunch of other superheros playing as one big one sorta like x-men) I think that would be a great idea because you kill all the heros with one stone....and then the characters that are favorites with the people they can go into their own movie.

They should wait until after we have stopped being bombarded with superhero movies.

the thing thats weird about smallville is that his teenage years are in modern times, but when he becomes superman when he's older in the old show and in the comics and movies, its the 1950's, 60s, 70s

KRAMER: Woah, woah, woah. What-what did you just say?
JERRY: I can't take it anymore! She's driving me crazy! I can't sleep, I can't leave the house, and I' here, I'm climbin' the walls. Meanwhile, I'm dating a virgin, I'm in this contest - something's gotta give!

He saw himself as alive- and they saw him dead!

Really though- I think even CARTOONS of a franchise like Batman need to set examples- the cartoons, the tv series, the spinoffs all go in different directions mutilating the stories beyond recognition. Maybe a penalty should be set- only one show at a time per franchise- or a slap on the wrist.

Not only do the want a superman film, and a batman film- but a Batman AND superman film. This brings up more issues, Batman and superman together has been done- sometimes they're friends, sometimes enemies in the shows. And I bet they use different actors for the combined movie intead of the same ones from the TWO separate films.

I don't wanna see this mainly because the latest directors stick with the newest big actor on the market- like the recent stream of Josh Hartnett films and colin farrel films
