VH1 is bringing its highly successful and hilarious "I Love the '80s" approach to a more hairy, less greedy, and far groovier decade: the '70s. An outrageous 10-hour, five-night flashback, "I Love the '70s" remembers the truth about the decade of disco, big collars and polyester. Celebrities weigh in on what was cool, bizarre, beautiful, puzzling and pretentious about the people, music, movies, TV shows, products, fashions, fads, trends and major events that defined pop culture during the decade. The all-new VH1 special premieres two episodes per evening on Monday-Friday, August 18 - 22, beginning at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) each night.
Each one-hour episode of "I Love the '70s" is an irreverent, tongue-in-cheek head trip through one single year, and celebrates the good, the bad, and the stoned in an offbeat nostalgia show, spotlighting retro clips from sitcoms, movies, music videos, TV commercials, network news and other sources -- plus more than 100 new interviews with the people who survived the decade that defined facial hair, large collars, afros and bell bottoms.
Mo Rocca ("The Daily Show"), Michael Ian Black ("Ed") and Hal Sparks ("Queer As Folk") return to "I Love the '70s" to lend their hilarious perspective once again. They join a variety of music artists, TV and film stars, athletes, journalists and other celebs who dish the decadent decade including Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller, Cameron Diaz, Jillian Barberie of "Good Day Live," Alec Baldwin, Sharon Osbourne, Aerosmith, Fashion Guru Simon Doonan, Rich Eisen and Stuart Scott of ESPN's "SportsCenter," comedian Greg Fitzsimmons, Drew Barrymore, Lisa Marie Presley, Kelly Rowland, Ziggy Marley, Demi Moore, and others. I will be sure to watch this. I was hoping VH1 would redo the "7 days of the 70's" week that they did twice before and of which I taped both. Then they showed Jackson 5 cartoons, 70's episodes of "American Bandstand," 70's movies like "Saturday Night Fever," and music videos like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "Silly Love Songs." I hope some of my favorites like Lee Majors and Lindsay Wagner will be included during the week.

Hilarious?! Those are three people I hated the most on "I Love the 80s"!!! Mo Rocca was such a little nerd who thought he was hilarious. I remember one part, I think in 1987, he said that some guy "looked like Wally Beaver." Who is Wally Beaver? I know a Wally Cleaver, but not a Wally Beaver. He better check his sources before he goes cracking 'jokes.' Michael Ian Black.....ick. Hal Sparks was OK I guess...not as annoying as the other too. I'm looking forward to this one though! Can't wait! Can you give us a description of each eppy like last time?

I doubt it's going to live-up to the greatness of "I Love The 80's." I was born in 1985- and I still remembered lots of the things mentioned!

Can't wait for "I Love the '90s."

I guess I don't like his kind of "humor." In one of the episodes of "I Love the 80s," he says that something was morally wrong with Teddy Ruxpin. What the hell is so moarally wrong about a teddy bear that tells stories to pre-schoolers?!

I just got done watching 1977, and they didn't mention Mary Tyler Moore at all. I haven't seen most of "I love the 70's" so was she ever mentioned??

I missed the 10-part series "I Love the 70's". I have the 10-part "I Love the 80's" series I taped last year. I hope "I Love the 70's" will come back again soon.
