Does anyone else have problems when being on this site? (I'm probably the only one)
I've had two different computers and this site almost always freezes up to the point where I have to shut my computer down improperly. Sometimes--like 10 minutes ago, my computer automatically restarts. My computer is brand new and never has problems anywhere else. BTW, I have the latest version of Virus Scan so I have no viruses. I update and scan all the time. I'm hooked on this site so it's hard to just say...forget it--I won't come here again. Just wondering. Thanks a lot! ![]() [This message has been edited by Madness (edited 01-04-2001).] |

That's interesting. I've have never had any problems with this site, not on any of my 3 computers. Also, these Infopop message boards seem to be pretty reliable too. I visit several fan site message boards that use Infopop every day or at least several times a week and never have any computer problems.
The problem probably lies with your software. Try using the Windows Update feature and making sure everything is updated, especially the critical updates. Make sure that your IE is up to date too. The IE 5.5 version seemed a bit buggy to me. Also, try one of those software update sites like Updates.com. They can give you some ideas as to whether your computer needs any major software updates. Make sure that your antivirus software is up to date and that you have the latest virus updates. It could be a virus of some kind. Alternately, try visiting the site with Netscape if you are using IE or IE if you are using Netscape. Opera is also another good choice. Finally, you might try re-installing your browser or even re-installing Windows as a last resort. Try and narrow down what might be causing the problem from there. Your video card could also be the culprit, make sure there are no new drivers available. Good luck! |

Thanks for the tips. Windows came pre-installed in my computer and my computer automatically searches for software updates and upgrades. Just re-scanned my Virus Scan and it was good. I have 5.5 (IE) with Windows ME. Everything is updated, I think. . I just can't understand why it only happens when I'm on the message boards? It is a little strange. I don't know. As long as my computer doesn't blow up, it can't be too serious!
--At least I'd like to believe that. Thanks again. I appreciate it! [This message has been edited by Madness (edited 01-04-2001).] |

My computer freezes a lot on this site too, it's not just you. Actually, I thought it was just me
When I try to go to it in AOL, it always freezes, but when I use Internet Explorer it doesn't. Don't know why it does that, just thought I'd share.

I'm connecting through my ISP. It's a local company that's pretty good. I use Internet Explorer. Let me know if I gave the right info. Thanks.
