Default "The Waxman Cometh"

Maybe it's just me, but I found this episode to be rather depressing....

While I LOVED the "Roy Biggins resembling Oliver Hardy" bit (I'm a BIG Laurel & Hardy fan), the episode as a whole had sort of a dark, "downer" feeling about it.

Maybe it was the dark, depressing look of the wax museum itself...or maybe it was Lowell's futile attempt to make a success of an obviously loser business....whatever the reason, I just wasn't "up" while watching this episode.

A while ago someone here mentioned that this "wax museum" episode was the one that USA Network was running the morning of the 9/11 attack, and that she could never bring herself to watch this one again...I probably had that fact in the back of my mind and that could also have something to do with my "downer" feelings toward this episode.

I didn't think it was depressing... I just thought it was kind of boring. Not one of the best. There were some funny parts, but overall, it wasn't one of the greatest.

and ok, I don't know if I'm going nuts here, but did anyone else notice this- you know the very beginning scene of the episode, I thought it was a season 5 episode because of Joe's hair.... now I don't know if I was imagining things, but Joe totally had the season 5 haircut in that very first scene, and then when it came back to the episode, his hair was longer, and I was confused...
Did anyone else notice this? It was like it was a scene they taped during the 5th season, and then they used it at the beginning of last night's episode.
I actually thought that last night's episode was another season 5 episode until suddenly... there's Casey! lol I was like, WTF?! So then I was like, "ok. what season IS this?" I had thought before that it was a late season 5, because of how long Joe's hair was compared to the scene at the beginning.
And then after Casey appeared, I saw Helen's wedding ring. so I figured out that it was season 7. hahaha.
but yeah, did anyone else notice that thing with Joe's hair?
I'll have to watch my tape again...

o. i just looked it up- that was a season 6 episode!
that does make more sense- duh, Krista.
hence, Helen could not be wearing a wedding ring... must have been an engagement ring. duh again.
I didn't get a good look at it. lol.

I'm still trying to figure out the fascination the Wings writers have with buildings catching on fire. And I know you all know what I mean. I know what episode you're talking about but I fell sleep and still had the VCR on, and when the VCR is left on and I have a time set, it won't tape. Geez, no Wings tonight!!!Going through withdrawals already!

I watched this episode again last night on tape. and Joe's hair WAS different in the opening scene than it was in the rest of the episode- he had the season 5 hairsyle at the beginning.
I bet they must film a whole bunch of those opening scenes all at one time, and use them as needed. Because those scenes never have anything to do with the rest of the episode anyway...

and yeah- i was thinking the same thing- they have some fascination with burning down buildings on this show. lol. pyromaniacs. hehe. that's a cool word. how about Pyromaniacical. haha.

aaaahhh!! no Wings tonight either! rrr!
at least after wednesday, i'll have a tape of 8 episodes, and i can watch one (or 2 each night) so i'll still have my Wings every night. hehe. then i can continue doing that every week.

o check this out- yesterday after work, me and my friend Matt took a COMPLETELY random trip to Rhode Island for basically no reason, and when we were in the very southeast corner of CT- almost into RI, we saw a sign for a place called the Sandpiper Inn. hehe.
hmm.. I haven't seen any sandpipers at the beach yet this year... i think they're around more at the end of the summer around here. I saw a ton of them in Maine last year.... they're so cute. I want a pet Sandpiper. lol. but then I'd need a beach in my backyard... i can live with that. hehe.
man, I'm so bored.
hey losthighway- "My Immortal" by Evanescence is playing on launch.com right now. and I'm actually in a mood where I can listen to it. lol. dude, PM me. i'm bored.
everyone PM me. haha

ok I'll stop now.
ooohh. I love this song- "Winter" by Tori Amos is playing. I love when my brother plays this on the piano...

ok I'm really shutting up now...

I've felt bad about missing the last two nights of Wings because it was intentional. Right now I'm caught up into reading the 5th Harry Potter book and I just can't put the thing down!

HARRY POTTER? Why waste time with THAT guy?

Does Harry have a cousin named Beevo?
Do Harry and his friends ever go on rat shoots?
Does Harry have an old classmate who is obsessed with him?
Did Harry's ex-girlfriend ever drive a Jeep through his office?

I just don't know what people see in Harry Potter!

hahaha! very true, losthighway.

I'm going to e-mail her now and tell her that I'm going to call her "Beevo" all the time. hehe. She'll probably be like, "awesome, man!"

...i wonder how Beevo is actually spelled.. Beevo, or Bivo, or Beveaux.... lol! i like that last one.

It got really bad for me....It got so all Lowell had to say was, "Well, my cousin Beevo...." and I would start laughing....I didn't even have to hear what Beevo said or did....just that setup MENTIONING Beevo would crack me up (probably because by then I knew that Beevo was a real weirdo and something truly BIZARRE was coming up)....

Am I an easy audience or WHAT?
