Default Question about the Stratton fortune

How and when did the Stratton family get rich?

What was the family business or businesses?

The Stratton family fortune came about in three different phases.

Edward Stratton I made millions by creating the inner-tube because he had a dream that people should be able to float when they went to the beach. The following year the tire was invented and the rest is history.

Edward Stratton II turned his money into a billion by creating an empire consisting of hundreds of companies which he personally ran each and every one of. His largest acquisition was a shipping line that he got by agreeing to marry the owner's daughter Abigail who was Edward's mother.

Edward Stratton III made his money through his the company he created called Eddie Toys. He started out developing toys but then decided to take an active part in running the company. When he decided to go back into development, he made Kate the President.

In addition to this, Edward the first left him with quite a bit of money in his will. Edward the third is indeed very wealthy-In the pilot episode, Ricky uncovers evidence that Edward's business manager has been stealing all his money. Ricky shows Edward and leonard the compter file which shows Louis bank account-which shows the amount he has(you need to pause it and zoom on the dvd to see it clearly)It shows us that his assets comes to a whopping neighborhood of 30 million dollars!

Yes Edward the third and Ricky do have problems-but money isn't one of them.
