I love at the end when he is saying good-bye to Gordie, Gordie goes "See you" and he goes "Not if I see you first..."

such a great coming of age movie

It was good, but the novella by Stephen King is even better. As you probably know, the movie is from King's story, "The Body." I think that's in his collection, "Different Seasons," or some name similar to that.

You're right. My english class read that novella for school in 9th grade and it is from Different Seasons.
