Post Overexposure

I know everyone wants to see the Facts of Life twice a night. However is there any body out there that thinks that airing it twice will cause people to get tired of watching it in the future. You know seeing episode after episode over and over again even if there are 209 shows? Do you think that will reduce its value in ratings and airtime in the future? I would really like to find out what you guys out there think.

The way I see it, this show has SO many more episodes than others. I never realized it until I started to compare it. I used to be addicted to the Brady Bunch and there are only like 116 of those, and some days it was played 3 times a day and I never got tired of it. Since there are so many episodes I think it can handle twice a night. If it's only on once it will take 6 months to finish its run. I think that's a little too much.

I agree with tvaddict. Actually with over 200 shows and them not showing them on Sunday except for MYOS it would take more than 7 months to show the entire series if it is only played once a night. If they are playing '3's Company and Gilligan's Island' more than one time a night they should definitely play FOL at least twice nightly.

Of course, I would love to see a FOL Marathon every month too

Hey I would NEVER get tired of watching FOL. Infact, I wish they were on 3x a night. That way we would be able to watch the eps that nick at nite wont air on the present 2am timeslot.

The thing is that it took NAN 3 1/2 months to air almost all the episodes. Any other opinions out there. I would really like to know.

here's what I think:

I love FOL ~~ I watch both 10:00 and 10:30 AND 2:00 am because I love it so much ~~ and like some of ya guys already, I used to be addicted to the brady bunch and didn't mind watching it when it aired three x a day... but now if n@n decides not to air it twice but only once, it ruins the fact its probably n@n's highest rated show and its getting a lot of rating 'CAUSE it's on twice. not to say it's gonna lose ratings if its on once, but think about it: its n@n's highest rated show. why the heck is n@n deciding to only air it once after 3 1/2 months of it twice or so????? if it's only once, we may not see "outta peeskill" or any season 8/9 until like, july. any opinions?

I agree with you thomasE. I mean I'm guessing over half of us are taping the eps, and what's the point of showing the entire run 4 times in a year? plus I think the show has a 4 year contract so I think it is a little pathetic that everyone cares so much WHEN or HOW MANY EPS they show a night. thats just my opinion though.

Talking

Look on the bright side, in the 80's we had to wait a whole week to see the next episode, now you only have to wait a day.

Stanley Roper: I'm sorry Jack

Jack Tripper: Oh, thats ok, what did you do?

Roper: Me? Nothing, I just thought I saw something that wasnt normal, because it was normal, but, now I can see it aint normal, so, everything's back to normal again.

Jack: oh, well, I'm glad for you.

Even though two episodes a night is great, I think the term 'overexposure' is just right. I mean, we have to understand that N@N wants to keep an audience's attention. And they can't do that if half of us are taping every episode in it's first run and never tuning in again. This is exactly what N@N was trying to avoid. And I think we as viewers, should give them a break, despite their obvious faults.

Even though..it may be overexposure..I do wish they would replay a new episode after 12am or a new one at that time..some of us are working or going to school, so that we can't get home in time for the now, new, 9:30 slot. I know myself that it was much easier trying to see the 10 or 10:30 time slot than 9:30.
This may sound weird but it's true for myself and some other people too.

I just wish I could see the banned episodes.

What does everyone else think?

'thomasE" thank you for agreeing with us. And yes of course I think we would all like to see the so called "banned" episodes. And for those of you that are worried about missing FOL, you can always tape it.
