i dont care much for some of their president's decisions....but i dont hate all french or anything. actually one of my friends this yr was an exchange student from france.

lol! peter may, do you realize how many americans there are and how many french there are? i'm sure lots of americans hate certain french people... maybe the french person stole something of theres or something.... I personally don't know any french people, so I couldn't hate any of them, but if I meet one and they steal from me, I will hate that french person...

Hate is too strong a word.

There is a general "negative" demeanor by the French toward the USA that has existed for decades. Where and why it began, I have no idea.

It is this basic negativism of theirs that makes me not much like them in return... not like France, the French, and anything French. Negativism begets negativism.

Having said that, there are individual French people and things that I do not dislike. It's just the overall "french" connection that bugs me.

I don't hate them either- I think it's became a stereotype for americans to hate the french (the british have started it too). As for Gérard Depardieu- I have never seen any of his films. Everytime they make a film with a french character it's like he's the one they turn to- like when they want to make a black film they turn to chric rock or eddie murphy for buddy cop films. Gérard Depardieu reminds me of Jean Claude Van Damme- he's not a celebrity anymore- (I sound obnoxious typing that) he's just THERE- and I haven't seen a van damme flic either. They look like those shallow films that are made for pure action (cough cough*** Triple X*** cough)
