Default Was this a weird statement by Cockroach?

Rudy was telling her dad she had a boyfriend named BUD and then Cockroach says, "Hey Rudy, I thought I was your boyfriend" Is a 16 year old supoposed to say that to a 7 year girl? I don't think so.

Default Cockroach

I think that he was just suppose to be teasing Rudy. Although that is pretty strange though, that a teenager would tease like that to a 7 year old.

Exactly, i think the writers could have eliminated that line by Cockroach.

I think Cockroach was just teasing Rudy also. It seemed like a pretty innocent line to me. He was just teasing his friend's little sister, that's all.

I don't think there was much to it. I don't know if you have a big brother, I don't but my best friend does and he's like 8 years older than us. We all grew up together so when I was little he use to tease me about how I was his girlfriend and I would be like "no so and so is my boyfriend" and he would act all hurt. It wasn't anything sick, it's just a little game that a kid-friendly guy played with a little kid.

yea, i think he was just teasing her. It's in there just to provide a laugh when Theo says " ...he get's turned down by girls of all ages". That would be unbelievably sick if that joke was meant to be serious.

It was her brother's best friend. So it was perfectly natural, nothin' innappropriate with it at all.

That's just the kinda teasin' that older siblings' friends do.

Jeez, this shouldn't even be a discussion, like most of the people have said here, it was a just a teaser/innocent.

Yea, it shouldn't be a real topic but if it was to come from anyone it should be someone with the name "sitcom analyzer".

Yeah i think that was a pretty harmless line Cockroach was just teasing and like someone said earlier the line allowed Theo to make the joke that he gets turned down by girls of all ages....plus i think the Cosby's was a pretty innocent show i dont't think they meant anything perverted about it ....in fact i never thought of it that way till now
