Default Shocking NEWS!!!-Golden Girls is doing EXTREMELY Well on Lifetime-I'm in a state of

Shock-LOL. I read today in the entertainment section that Golden Girls has become a Huge Hit on Lifetime with Females 18-34. Well now since Golden Girls is a so-called success, Lifetime should give Maude a chance. Anyone Agree

I disagree completely. Instead of Maude, they should run the classic Mary Tyler Moore series which features Betty White (one of the Golden Girls). Plus, Mary Tyler Moore the series is very well-known and probably the most popular out of the two shows ("Maude", MTM) therefore is could possibly garn more ratings and viewers for Lifetime.

I'm not surprised that The Golden Girls is such a success on Lifetime, it's been doing so well for Lifetime in the ratings for awhile now. I would definately like if Lifetime were to buy the rights to Maude, I think the series would especially work well with The Golden Girls. Not only that but The Mary Tyler Moore Show or its spin-offs, TV Land's contract for MTM expires at the end of August, if they decide not to renew their contract this would be the perfect time for Lifetime or, Oxygen, WE, to pick-up the series.

Where have you been? If you haven't noticed, they have been airing the show 6-7 pm and 11pm & 11:30pm for years. It's always been a hit, just like The Cosby Show is for Nick@Nite. And to a lesser degree, what Andy Griffith is to TV Land.

Maude is not the same concept as TGG. Maude is Dorothy without Blanche, Rose and Sophia. That's why Lifetime hasn't done shows like TGG, I would guess. Why would you have no variety in your programming.

Someone just needs to come up with a cable network ... Sitcoms Everyday (SETV). Just good comedies from all genres and backgrounds.

My two cents is in...

I like that idea. Of course, it'll never happen.

GG being popular for 18-34 is not surprising. I was 19, when I first got hooked on GG.

There is a lot of publicity of GG lately. They are no.3 in reruns, after Friends & Seinfield.

Yep! The show is very appealing, and people of all ages can relate to the storyline.

The retrospective was also Lifetime's highest rated special ever if you missed that news.

It would be great to see Maude on Lifetime. BUT..... I think Lifetime is trying to be more modern. Even though TGG is from the 80's, some young people don't know the show is off the air. Plus Lifetime is getting into more of their own original programming. They are having a new Saturday night line up. I just dont think they would go for anymore shows. I could be wrong.

Maude is nothing like TGG. It was very controversial during it' time. Maude had an abortion, face lift, married 4 times, husband was an alcoholic......... Maude is a little like Dorothy. But it is a completely different show.
I hope Maude would be on TV Land again cause i recently found 2 episodes on a tape and couldn't blieve how funny it was, even if it was a little on the serious sides sometimes.
