I know usually I'm a bit controversial, agreeing with cloning etc, but now I think science is about to cross the line.

Scientists now plan to use tissue from an ABORTED foetus (sp?) to create an egg which may be used for IVF treatment, allowing couples to have a child. This WOULD however mean that the baby's biological mother would have been the aborted foetus (the foetus has to have been aborted between a certain time period of the pregnancy)- so the kid's biological mother would be unborn.
I think this is wrong because abortion numbers are already very high, so women should cut down abortion and instead put their child up for adoption, or they should become surrogate mothers. Because there are lots of infertile couples, and lots of abortions, and not enough egg donors, too many will take part- and you can't hold back from a child forever that you aren't it's biological mother- and a child or adult finding it's mother was an aborted foetus would be devestating. Fortunately there are laws preventing this sort of thing in the UK- but there are countries with relaxed laws (think Holland- where Euthanasia is legal and reported regularly in papers about british people going there to die) so this could be practised.
Though I don't want this to happen, I think that WOMEN who are going to go to extremes in protest should also help support the cause by donating eggs. If most women opposing this did that twice a year, maybe not even, maybe 1once over 2 years- the problem would be solved.

What are your views on this?

This should be moved to the political board, but anyway I think that is totally wrong. I am already against abortion, but this, this is juts inhumane.

Abortion is when a pregnant women decides she doesn't want or can not have a baby for some reason or another so she goes to a clinic get's injected with something that kills the fetus (which is an unborn baby). I personally think it is wrong, but we have already been down that road on the current events/political boards.

Oh my God, this is just too freaky for words...Just when I think that genetic engineering and the abortion industry could not sink any lower..... Reading about genetic engineering just freaks me out, thinking what scientists could do with humans. Nothing sacred left.
