Default Is our forum fading?

The last 2 messages from TJ, the administrator of these boards, have been ominous. And from the activity level of this board in particular I have the sad feeling that these boards are on the way out. They cost too much to run and we have run out of things to talk about, it seems to me. Just for the record, I want to let everyone on TDVDS board know that TDVDS is still my all time favorite show and I am still waiting for Doug Denoff to upgrade his site to allow us to order the DVD sets from him. I check on his site every day to see if that has been done yet. I enjoy this board and feel like the regulars here are my "friends."
I hope we can hold out here, so when we do receive our DVD on DVD sets, we can talk about how great they are!!!

Lolac,

I'm still here. But the news does sound ominous. I say we have a backup plan, like a yahoo site or something, in case this one goes down suddenly.

BTW, I too look at Doug's site daily hoping to see an update. I hope he gets this done soon. As each day passes and he doesn't have a pre-order page, he risks losing potential sales to outlets like amazon.com, who already have the set available for pre-order. For the record, I'll stick it out until September gets here, but Doug needs to be able to offer the set on time.

Hi, Lolac,
I'm still here too, although I must confess to a certain a mount of recent inactivity. It's just that my time has become severely limited lately, due to work demands. Guess what though? I just got 3 1/2 weeks off, with pay! So I'll be doing some catching up execpt for when I'm out of town.
I hope these boards don't shut down. I enjoy our banter and our camaraderie. I still love TDVD show too, and most of all, I still love Laura!

Good to see you, Steve! We've missed you! I guess when you have a life, you can't spend much time on the internet!

Just for the record, the boards will not be going down despite the rising costs and general lack of support. They've been running for 3 1/2 years now. I just had to make some adjustments to deal with the continued growth on some of the other boards.

Hi Steve, Lolac, and B&W fan ~

This thread is kind of old, but I was doing a little back-reading and wanted to comment: I haven't posted much here at TDVDS board, but when I have, I notice it appears to be more of a friendly/well-mannered environment than on most message boards, and you three regulars, along with a couple of other names, are most recognizable to me in that regard. The internet is so bombarded with worthless junk and mean-spirited message boards, so it's rare to find a forum that offers a chance to intelligently discuss common interests, whether it's politics and religion, this distressed society of ours, or . . . something as pleasant as a return to the olden days of television and Americana. So thanks for reminding me that some people really do still have good manners, a keen understanding of what's missing in society today, and an appreciation of style and quality.

Glad the board is still up!

Peace ~

Those are very kind words, Goldie, and ones I happen to agree with. I really enjoy being on this board. I look forward to logging on and reading the posts everyday. I'm glad you're here too, and please post anytime you have an opinion or question.
The pople here are some of most polite and considerate I've found on the Internet. I think we've all been "Petri-fied!"
