Red face If June was a rebel.....

If June was a rebel like Lucy...You know like overspending, talking back to Ward or just plain getting into trouble, do you think Ward would have reacted alot like Ricky or would he still just be easygoing? I think Ward would be patient for awhile longer than Ricky but I think eventually he would resort to the same disaplinary tactics as Ricky. Yes, I'm talking about the spankings.
I know I would be in trouble alot!! LOL!! Ricky got away with it so I'm sure Ward would!

I can't picture Ward spanking June. It just seems out of character for him.

I think if June would of been the rebellious type, it would of changed the theme of the show too much. There would of been more focus on conflicts between Ward and June and it wouldn't be focused on what the boys were up to.

Since "I Love Lucy" rarely focused on Little Ricky when he was on the show, the main theme was, how long can Ricky hold up under Lucy's crazy antics? The main theme on "Leave It To Beaver" is, how long can Ward and June hold up under Wally and the Beavers antics?

Obviously on "I Love Lucy," Ricky's hot Cuban temper always got his blood pressure to a boil. On "LITB," Ward and June would explode occasionally, but never too much to really frighten the boys too awfully much.

Ward always used that great line that would scare anybody:

"Boy, what my father would do to me if I had done that!!!" (while making a fist)

I understand your points,I was just in a giddy mood this morning I had worked all night with no sleep on the shift I'm not used to. So I hope I didn't offend anyone, I was just having a crazy moment.

If June behaved like Lucy, then I'd really pity Ward, having both June and Beaver to put up with. He'd probably have high blood pressure and cardiac problems.

Yes. I can name three episodes off the top of my head where Ricky spanked Lucy. Lucy had been known to clobber him from time to time as well, just never on the behind.

I can't imagine Ward spanking June no matter what she did. He just wasn't the type. He didn't even spank Beaver at times when some parents would.

They never showed Ward actually spanking the boys. But, the boys would refer to it every now and then. Like Wally said something like," Do you want me to leave the room so you can clobber him. Or you're not gonna hit him are ya?"

I think if Ward had a wife like Lucy and Beav as his son we would have had our first divorced parent sitcom!
