A Modest Proposal to TJ

Obviously people are upset that their siggies are no longer going to be part of their posts. This is a big part of their self-expression, their personalities. Obviously we want our siggies.

BUT.... We seem to forget we have taken advantage of the priviledge of our siggies, and made them 20 times larger than a simple two-word response on a thread. These things cost a lot of money, and people apparently haven't been coughing up. And I just want to say since I have been a big poster here, I have been planning on sending a couple bucks out of gratitude for all the fun here. I don't want to see people's siggies missing from here on out, but I don't want to see TJ left in a lurch over this. Is there SOMETHING we can do to rectify the problem? I think I read someone say if we pitched in a few bucks here and there we could have a siggy...I don't know. I don't think it's going to do too much good for people to leave if they can't get their pictures up, because that might spread ill will to other online boards people go to, some jilted party might start bad-mouthing us here and not want to come here. We have to do something, because this is has been a great place for us. We are all family, and this is our home. We have to consider TJ's feelings about this, but there has to be some middle ground where we can get our siggies up as well as committing some kind of financial help to do so.

It doesn't bother me one bit. This is TJ's board. He can run it however he wants to. I agree we've been a bit selfish as far as images in signatures go.

My last signature, with the Bill Hicks picture and long quote - when TJ posted his poll, I realized how ridiculously long it was and immediately changed it.

He's also really lenient on our avatar sizes. 125x125 pixels is PLENTY! Most boards I post at are usually half that, if they even allow avatars at all!

TJ, whenever it will be possible for me to do so, I'll donate some cash for the boards. I've spent a year and a half on it, I've enjoyed it, and I really don't think you're the only person who should be flipping the bill for it. Thanks for tolerating my B.S.

I feel good tonight so I'm not going to shut up about it. I'm sure the 15 lines of text MAX rule still counts. It's long to scroll through. It also shifts over the whole post. You may be bitchy and hate me, but oh well. I'm sure I'll learn to live with it. I agree, it looks amazing, but itgoes against the rule. Ultimately, TJ will decide if it's legit or not.

Is your screen resolution 800x600? Because mine's 1024x768 and it doesn't shift anything on mine. Oh well. And who said I was bitchy and hated you? I just think if we have ONE pic in our sigs and linked from a free service like boomspeed.com instead of SO I think we should be allowed to have a pic in our sig, but if my text pic gets deleted then I'm gonna be more than bitchy.
