Images are no longer are allowed in signatures, the image code has been disabled. You can have text or smilies I believe in them though. It was a tough decision, but I believe it is the best choice for the boards as it continues to grow.

Most of you come here I think to chat and socialize and less to look at pictures (which you can continue to view by attachments).

The signature rule was constantly being abused, and there was no way to police it. I couldn't put a limit on the length of a signature, the amount of images in a signature, or the size of the images.

I want these boards to be like DVD Talk as far as popularity and speed. They allow attachments and signatures, but they don't allow images in any signatures. You will find very few boards larger than the SO boards that allow images in signatures, it just slows everything down when people are constantly dowloading stuff.

Attachments will continue to be allowed - but they will display as links and not download automatically. This gives people the choice of downloading them or not.

Some of you may leave because of this, I understand. I want to say thank you for your posts in the past and wish you the best of luck in the future.

Thanks, TJ...this will make it so that we can see each other's signatures and not have to wait for a long time to do so. Great choice!

So, wait... you ASK us what we want, we TELL you we want signature pics (at least the majority does)... and then you go ahead and make the opposite decision.

THEN WHY EVEN ASK US IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO BE A HYPOCRITE?

He is the one who created them, though. He should have the ultimate say.
