Beaver's Self-Distruction part 9

The next morning June is getting breakfast ready. Ward walks in and kisses and embraces June.

Ward: Hi sweetheart. How are you doing this morning?
June: I'm nervous. I just don't want him to see me fall apart.
Ward: I know honey(kisses her forehead) but maybe he needs to see what he's doing to you.

Ward and June are setting the table they hear yelling and banging around upstairs.

June: Ward! Their fighting!
Ward: Stay here honey! (runs upstairs)
Ward: What's the problem guys?
Beaver: Wally dragged me out of bed!
Wally: Well you needed to get your drunk butt out of bed!
Ward: Would you rather I dragged you out of bed?
Beaver: No sir. (rubbing his head)
Ward: Get ready for breakfast, both of you!

Back in the kitchen....
June: What happened?
Ward: Wally dragged Beaver out of bed and they started fighting I had to break it up.
June: Our family is falling apart Ward.
Ward: I promise that will never happen.

Wally and Beaver enter kitchen glaring at each other.

June: How do you feel this morning Beaver?
Beaver: Fine until that creepy Wally drug me out of bed.
Wally: Drug. What an interesting word.
Ward: Let us handle this Wally.
Wally: Yes sir.
Ward: Well young man, who gave you the booze last night?
Beaver: I don't know his name.
June: You are lying.
Beaver: No I'm not!!
Ward: Theodore Cleaver, I suggest you watch your tone with your mother!
Beaver just looks at her.
Ward: We all know about your secret life.
Beaver: Secret life?
Ward: Yes. You no longer hang out with Gilbert and Larry or your other buddies. Does the name Vinny Celarno mean anything to you?
Beaver: nope.(sarcastic)
Ward: Well you brother mentioned that he had seen you talk to him before.
Beaver: I don't know who he is and I see that someone has been going through my personal belongings.
Ward: You got something to hide?
Beaver: No
Ward: Then why worry about it?
Beaver: Because your messin with my privacy.
Ward: Let's get something straight, while you live under this roof,I will search anything and anybody I want to. Do you understand me?
Beaver: Yes sir.
Ward: Well, all I can do now is ground you for a month. Just school and church! Do I make myself clear? No friends or phone either!
Beaver: A month!? I wanted to join the basketball team!
Ward: Too bad! Athletes don't get drunk! Next time we will take it up with the police.
June: Beaver,we love you and hope you will take this chance to straighten out. I can't bear to see you like this.
Beaver: I'm growing up. I'm not your baby anymore.

June gets up from the table looking very hurt as Ward watches her.

Ward: Do you see how you are hurting your mother? I won't tolerate it! You might think you are too big but I will still take a belt to you.

Wally notices his mothers tears and goes to her. He puts his hand on her shoulder.


Wally: Don't cry mom it will be ok.
June: I hope so Wally.(wipes tears) Please promise me that you won't fight with your brother. It breaks my heart to see that.
Wally: Ok mom I'll try. (hugs her) I love you mom. I gotta go.
June: Ok honey, I love you too. Have a good day at school.

June leaves the kitchen to go upstairs.

Ward: Are you proud of yourself young man?
Beaver: She always worries for nothing. I made a mistake.
Ward: She will always worry,she is your mother and I don't appreciate you hurting her like this. Do you know that your mother cried herself to sleep last night? Do you even give a damn?
Beaver: You never talk like this. (suprised)
Ward: Well, I guess I never needed to. I'm trying to get through to you.
Beaver: Ok I get the message. I make mom cry again,you will beat me for it.
Ward: I'm about to now because it seems you forgot how to respect us.
Beaver: I'm going to be late for school. (getting up)
Ward: Be home right after school!
Beaver: Bye.

That was a great story. Too bad it's happening more and more each day with our youth.

Signs of the times we live in.
It would fit right in if the Beave was airing these days.

I was gonna write more but no one seemed to care so I just gave up on it. I think it was too serious for everyone.

As more people come aboard like me,there will be more interest you know?
I for one enjoy your writtings,and will read all of them.
I find things like this a fresh look at an old idea.
