Default Ward sending flowers

I can only recall two references to Ward sending June flowers. There's the time that Mrs. Rayburn sends Ward flowers and June mistakenly thinks they are for her from Ward. She's thrilled to have received the flowers. Then Ward tells her "I didn't send them." The other is when the boys goldfish bowl broke. June had placed the fish into a milk bottle, but now needs to return the milk bottle to the milkman. June poured the goldfish from the milk container into a flower bowl. Ward asked her what she would do if he sent her flowers. June replied, "that's the last thing I have to worry about." Ward then said "that's right".

In each of the two incidents, I have had the thought that it wouldn't hurt Ward to send June flowers every now and then if it would mean so much to her. He was very good to her in so many other ways. June seems to have accepted the situation because at the end of the incident with the flower bowl and the fish, she cupped Ward's cheek in her hand and smiled at him before walking away. If he had sent flowers, I guess he would have been the perfect husband and you know what they say, nobody's perfect.

Any of you have any thoughts on this?

I, of course haven't seen all the shows but I was wondering if Ward has ever sent June flowers. I really think that is the very least that she deserves from him. Look at all she does for him and the boys on a daily basis. Yes, I know it was expected of a woman back then, but she did it with so much love and patience.
I do however think that Ward never really understood that sending flowers was special for a woman because I think in his mind he loved her and she knew it and he showed his love for her in other ways and like you said, June seemed to accept it.
I think we should blame the writers for this one because if Ward Cleaver was real he would have sent her flowers and would have been more romantic! Yes, I know this show is about Beaver, but Ward is just so handsome.

It reminds me of the song "You Don't Send me Flowers Anymore" by Barbra Striesand and Neil Diamond. Not the end so much of the marriage, just the nearending of the romance. Many June should send Ward some flowers to jumpstart it again?
