Default I was on "THE" pier!

We're there on Saturday and I'm like "That white building looks familiar...that carousel looks familiar...those bumper cars look familiar". Then it hits me, the characters were always mentioning Santa Monica....oh my god I'm on the theme pier!

And no camera!

But I did ride on the carousel that the cast did.....but I wasn't brave enough to stand on the horses like Jack .

Next stop has got to be the LA Zoo. But I'm fearing it's been remodeled after 20 years since they did the "Teri" theme.

What are some of the changes at the pier now?

Oh my goodness, how cool! Yeah, lol, I always wanted to go to the LA zoo...too bad I live all the way across the country. I did have a friend though who went to a zoo near us and she has a picture of her near the flamingos with her leg up like Terri did

It's really great, nothings too different than in the theme. Didn't see any "bottle toss" kind of thing. Its restaurants, souvenier stores, even a small rollercoaster. Interesting to find out the carousel is indoors. I promise pictures next time I go, heh heh.

Yeah, I was at the Santa Monica pier last June with my friend Liz. She wasn't too thrilled, but me, being a little TV Nerd, was in all my glory. We were the only two people on the carousel (some little kid was having a birthday party in the building and they all thought we were nuts...).

Anyway, we took the bus down there from downtown LA. I took pictures off of both sides of the pier of the familiar looking buildings and on the carousel and of the bumper cars (which have obviously been replaced since the 70's...).

It was a really eerie feeling being there. LOL. I loved it.

Did you see the Holiday Inn when you were at the Pier?

There were tall buildings on either side that looked like they could be hotels, but I didn't see a specific sign for a Holiday Inn. (I wasn't looking, either, so it might have been...). What's with the Holiday Inn?

It's just something I see in the opening credits when Jack is walking with Janet and Chrissy

Yes the Holiday Inn is still there. Not that I was at the Pier but after you mentioned it I went and looked up the hotel online. Its full name is Holiday Inn SANTA MONICA BEACH AT THE PIER. Here is a link to it: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/6c/...smoca?irs=null
