Default Battle of the Network Stars

Anybody remember these 70's/80's perennials called "Battle of the Network Stars?" I use to love watching these specials that gathered the then hottest tv stars from their respective networks and allowed them to compete head to head in various athletic events. Along with "Circus of the Stars" these specials never failed to entertain as well as produce unexpected winners. I would love to see them started again, utiizing today's talents. But better yet, I wish some channel would air reruns of the older editions. I am sure getting clearances for all the stars used in them would prove an obstacle but one that could be surmounted.

I swear I saw in TV Guide this week or last that there would be a retrospective on "Battle of the Network Stars" this Sunday, last Sunday, or next Sunday. Anyone know???

You are correct, Jayman75. In TVGuide this week, the Trio Channel is airing BOTNS 10pm ET, tonight and 7pm ET on weeknights. I don't have Trio, but my parents do!

I used to watch this when I was a kid, and I loved it. Just the other day, my sister & I were talking, too, if this show would work these days. I think it'll be fun to watch even now with present stars.

They're airing 5 of the 19 specials:

Sorry Pav, for the multi-post. I didn't think BotNS would be Reality shows, which is why I posted in General.

Thanks for the info...

Oh I definately remember Battle of the Network Stars!

Very entertaining, and lots of fun to watch. I caught last night's episode from 1976, and can't wait for the rest this week.

It would be great to see the show revived again, but here's a problem

There are more than three networks out there now, do you include FOX, WB, and UPN in the competition or do you stick with just the big three?

The episodes they were suppose to air were 1, 2, 4, 7, and 9; but now I think they are airing 1, 3, 5, 6 and 8 instead. Read more about that here:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...047#post902047

Also CLASSICTV2003, originally they were not suppose to air any episodes with Catherine Bach, but if my prediction is right, they will show specials 6 and 8 with her, which are from 1979 and 1980. They are not airing any Tom Wopat episodes, he was on specials 12 and 14, much later in the series.
