Default Why are DVD's so hard to take out the case?

i'm new to DVD's and just was woondering why are they so hard to take out the case? I don't want to damage the DVD.

WHOA, GUYS!!!!! Simmer down!

I'm pretty sure DVDs are hard to take out of the case ebcause they want it to stay in and not bounce around like the cheap-o Hollywood Video DVD cases they use...CDs have to be handled as carefully as possible, because it is easy to get them scratched.

I guess that's the major disadvantage of DVD's. You have to be actual careful. You don't have to be that way with VHS tapes. I had the hardest time getting the DVD out-i was like damm-i don't want to damage something i just paid for

CDs are no cakewalk either. I like it when the CD store person opens them for me before I leave the store. You need tools and great eyesight to open those things.
