THE GRANDDADDY OF ALL REALITY SHOWS RETURNS FOR ANOTHER TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE, ON "THAT'S INCREDIBLE: THE REUNION, PART II," STARRING ORIGINAL HOSTS JOHN DAVIDSON, FRAN TARKENTON AND CATHY LEE CROSBY,
MONDAY, AUGUST 11, ON ABC "That's Incredible" was the show that helped create today's reality series genre with segments that showed everything from death defying stunts, mystifying phenomena and wacky animal stunts, as well as uplifting stories about amazing people who overcame obstacles and handicaps. In a new, one-hour special, "That's Incredible: The Reunion, Part II," original hosts John Davidson, Fran Tarkenton and Cathy Lee Crosby come together again to relive some of the series' most memorable moments through retrospective clips that show the more unusual sides of nature, medicine and human endeavor. Also featured are reunions with some of the people who were subjects on the original show. "That's Incredible: The Reunion, Part II" airs MONDAY, AUGUST 11 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. Through a series of retrospective clips, the hosts will relive favorite moments from the "That's Incredible" years. One such clip includes the now-famous champion golfer Tiger Woods. When the five-year-old appeared on the show, he said, "In 20 years I want to beat Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson." Classic segments to be featured in "That's Incredible: The Reunion, Part II" include: * The return of Poncho, the singing parrot, who at 39 years old, is crooning better than ever; * Dave Stevens, a legless athlete who came on the show 20 years ago to say he wanted to be a baseball player. He is now a producer at ESPN; * The six-foot tall contortionist who squeezed himself into a 2 ft. x 2 ft. box; * A man who defies death by catching a bullet with his teeth; * A seance where the ghost of a man who has been dead for over 150 years was purportedly photographed. During its original run on ABC from 1980 to 1984, "That's Incredible," which popularized the phrase, "Don't try this at home," looked at the more unusual sides of man and nature in segments that ranged from the uplifting (young people overcoming severe handicaps to lead normal lives) to the unexplainable (a park ranger who'd been hit by lightning more than seven times) to the daring (a stuntman jumping a motorcycle over the spinning rotors of three helicopters). Alan Landsburg is the executive producer and director of "That's Incredible: The Reunion, Part II." Kay Hoffman is the supervising producer. Paula Deats is the producer and shares writers' credit with Michael Rowe. The show is produced by The Landsburg Company. |

Wow!!! I didn't know that Tiger Woods was on That's Incredible when he was 5 years old. I used to watch both That's Incredible and Real People when it was on originially back when they were on in the 1980's. That sounds like a winner to me. I hope that they can get a reunion going with Real People with Sarah Purcell and the other hosts of that show.

By the way, I'd like to see a Real People reunion, too. |
