Default Who was Buffy's Soul Mate?

Who do you think most closely fits as Buffy's soul mate....Angel, Riley, or Spike? I have to vote for Spike (post soul getting). Since Buffy was the reason why Angel lost his soul, it was sort of like they were set up to fail at romance.

Personally, I don't think Buffy had a soul mate, because I don't think she was meant to live long enough to have one.

I don't think she had a soul mate, either. I did like her with Angel best, but I don't even think Angel was her soul mate. Spike (He's my fave. character, so I'm not dissing Spike) I just didn't think Spike and Buffy made a good couple together. I think Spike's soul mate was Drusilla, imo. However, I'm glad they tossed in the Spike and Buffy relationship because if they didn't, Spike could've been dusted a long time ago. Riley- nah, I def. don't think Riley was Buffy's soul mate.

Oh god, you got me started.

I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE Spike/Buffy shipper. They are meant for eachother. They are soulmates. They have been through so much together. And Buffy really did love Spike in season 6. Yes, she was using him to feel, but deep down she really did love him and she was either too stupid to realize it or too afraid to admit it. She didn't come to terms with her true feelings for him until season 7. And ultimately, she revealed her love to him. No need to fret either. James Marsters is joining the cast of Angel, so he and Buffy definitely have a chance. They will be together. I know it. And if they aren't, then I will throw myself off a bridge damnit. Or I'll throw Joss off a bridge. Either way someone is going to die.

Spike and Buffy forever

I like Spike better than Angel and Riley. Plus, the look good together. Buffy and Spike all the way!

YAY! I can't believe that Spike is in the lead. 'Tis such a happy day. I thought I was alone in my whole "Spike -N- Buffy" fixation.

Personally, I love Angel, but I thought it sucked the way he upped and left her at the end of season 3 without a proper goodbye (and after the girl sacrificed herself to save his life, might I add!). Sure, Spike hurt Buffy before he got his soul, but look at how much better souless Spike treated Buffy, than what souless Angel treated her. Besides, Spike made the conscious effort to win his soul back, while Angel had to have a spell cast on him before he got his. Spike stuck it out with Buffy despite all her attacks that she launched on him, despite the fact that he figured she'd never actually love him. He devoted himself to her.

Did anyone besides me think that Riley and Willow would have made a better couple than Riley and Buffy? I think I would have actually liked Riley, had he not coupled up with Buffy. Those two just didn't make a good couple. I think it was Jane Epstein (sp?) who pointed out that Hannigan and Blucas did have an on-set chemistry that they thought might persuade the viewers' opinions and lead them to pull for a Willow/Riley romance. Interesting.

Here's another thought. Did anyone think Xander and Buffy would have meshed well as a couple during season 7? Personally, I saw a great amount of love exhibited from Xander toward Buffy. Hell, he had the hotts for her since high school, even though he knew she'd never return those feelings, and yet still he devoted himself toward her. Perhaps this is one of the reasons Xander's marriage to Anya was doomed to fail. Xander never got over his love for the Buffster. I don't see any chemistry between them, though. Though, I did hear a rumor that Joss Whedon originally contemplated hooking them up.

"Angel's lame. His hair goes straight up and he's bloody stupid."

Angel left Buffy. Spike didn't. Angel tried to kill Buffy and her friends when he didn't have a soul. Spike protected Dawn from Glory and loved Buffy when he didn't have a soul. Angel was cursed with a soul. Spike endured painful tests and trials to get his soul back for the woman he loved.

Spike is definitely the one for Buffy.

Spike with a soul was much better for Buffy. Without one, he was terrible towards her. Angel let her slip through his fingers and hurt her on numerous occasions.

Well, I think Angel and Buffy will forever be in love. But I'm glad Buffy moved on to Spike. Buffy and Angel couldn't last forever.

Angel and Buffy were great together... but I think Spike was it. They were so right for each other, and unlike Angel, Buffy and Spike could consumate their relationship without side effects such as your boyfriend going evil.
