I liked this episode...It seemed to give closure to the Brian and Alex relationship (which it really needed), and there were some very funny moments within the episode. (One surprise was Brian's letter-perfect imitation of Antonio...that really put me away!).
I like how "Wings" gives us a little bit of the upcoming preparation for Joe & Helen's wedding in each episode, but they don't make it the constant focus of each episode....many other series have concentrated on just one theme week after week (getting married, having a baby, etc.), and by the time the actual event happens, you're just so darned SICK of the whole thing! "Wings" made the Hackett wedding an important part of the series, but the writers and producers also remembered that the other people in that airport had lives too, and most of the recent episodes that I've been seeing have been a well-balanced mix of story lines. |

Both Joe and Brian have done convincing Antonio-impressions on the show. They are so hilarious!!!!

Something else that I liked about this Brian-Alex reunion episode....The first time Alex dumped Brian (at the end of the previous season), it was pathetic (and frankly, kind of annoying)....Brian became a sniveling, whiny wimp who was a mere shadow of his former self.
However, THIS time around the dumping was done in a humorous manner, and Brian was actually a FUNNY character through it all ("You're DUMPING me?" "You're giving me the 'Friend' line?", and my personal favorite, "Oooh, I'm one sick puppy!")....but it was pretty obvious this time around that the "old" Brian is BACK, and he's going to be OK without Alex (even if he WAS yelling after Alex's departing helicopter). I think that the series, as well as the character of Brian, really NEEDED this "reunion" episode to sort of tie up the loose ends and put the character of Brian back on track....I think that they did a fine job of it! |

The only thing I didn't like in the episode, was that Helen and Alex didn't interact with eachother. I was kind of hoping for a "Hi Helen." "Oh, hi Alex." I'm assuming that Alex was told that Joe and Helen were engaged at some point, even if we didn't see it happen. Because Alex left when Helen was still engaged to Davis.

I was happy to see that Joe got a hair cut. I did not like the long hair that he sporting.
I like how Lowell came in screaming that he had been robbed. |

The only two guys who were consistently well-groomed (at least in the hair department) were Antonio and Roy...although Roy had to go through a gallon jug of Vitalis to get his hair that way!

I liked that episode but what irritated me was that Alex made it sound like everything that went wrong in their relationship was Brians fault like she was perfect or something. She dumped him right? She made it sound like he left her at the altar or something
I was ROFL at Brian's imitation of Antonio, it was dead on!!

There was something else about that episode that had me scratching my head..... When Brian is talking to Joe about his relationship with Alex, he's saying things like, "She's so FUNNY...She makes me LAUGH!"..... When did THAT ever happen? I must have missed more "Alex" episodes than I THOUGHT!

I like Alex, but I hated how she blamed it all on Brian.

And she said "You wanted to see other people", which wasn't totally the case. Brian had been hanging out all week partying with his old author friend, and seemed to want that life back. Alex point blank asked him about it and he didn't answer, so she said to pack up and get the hell out.
About haircuts: just wait till the last year or so, Joe totally hackjobs his hair military style. |
